The first stage of digestion is in your mouth due to all the enzymes in your saliva and your teeth to mush it up. Ayurveda says to chew each bite 32 times... Count how many bites you do naturally when you eat dinner tonight! 
The next most important stage of digestion is when what you've consumed arrives in the stomach; if your watching tv, having an engaging conversation or driving you most likely didn't chew your food properly and also without all your awareness on eating your stomach doesn't know the food is coming, it therefore hasn't produced the enzymes and acids to break down the food or drink you've consumed. When there isn't sufficient enzymes and acids (#digestivefire / #agni in ayurveda) the food then passes into the small intestines in larger particles as it hasn't broken down properly. These larger particles then damage the small intestine walls / #villi . 1 scoop @pranaon Primal Plant Protein (I used hazelnut cacao)
1 small raw beetroot (slice skin off and cut into small chunks) 
1 dollop coconut yoghurt 
1 tbsp chia seeds 
1/2 cup frozen blueberries 
Topped with sprinkle of coconut and @redtractorfoods Paleo Granola

It's important to drink smoothies rather than juice so you get the maximum nutrients (like fiber)! This smoothie contains: 1/2 cup frozen berries, 1 cup frozen chopped spinach, 1 cup mixed frozen fruit, 1 table spoon ground flax seeds, 2 tablespoons peanut butter, 1 teaspoon maca powder, and 24 ounces water. #chewyoursmoothies

This was a yummy step up from my usual smoothie of just banana and coconut water, I added strawberries and raspberries too ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ so grateful to have wonderful healing and nourishing foods accessible to me ๐Ÿ™ I have also been taking #cbdoil for the last 2 weeks and have seen some great improvements. Good morning! A little over two weeks ago, I found out I'm going to be sharing my physical space with a little blessing for the next 9 months. We are so excited, but that also means I have to be extremely cautious of what I put into and how I treat my body. After seeing the results of the #crazysexydiet #21daycleanse that @fitnessglogirl experienced (Check her out! She looks stunning!!) I knew I still wanted to continue down the path of #livinggreen, without being too harsh on my body. I started the research right in my own kitchen, and found a 10-day green smoothie cleanse book. After reading it I realized, while this may be a "cleanse" for some, this is easily a lifestyle I can live with. The book allows for a modified cleanse in which 2 smoothies are consumed for breakfast and dinner, high protein snacks like raw almonds and hard-boiled eggs are permitted throughout the day, and dinner is a healthy, high-protein meal of your choosing. Perfect!! So I did all my shopping on Sunday, and today is #day1. Today's smoothies are made up of spinach, strawberries, mango, grapes, an apple, ground flax seeds, and chia seeds. Get some greens into you!  Greens are great alkalises and detoxifies. Healthy cells are clean cells. I love using fresh herbs in smoothies and salads. They are supercharged greens that add great flavour. ๐ŸŒฑ๐ŸŒฑ๐ŸŒฑThis mornings breakfast on the go was a smoothie (mango, 1/2 an avocado, lettuce, fresh lemon thyme, apple mint, regular mint, chia seeds, powdered pau d'arco, powdered turmeric, powdered cinnamon and the water from 1 fresh coconut. I saved the coconut flesh and popped it in a jar to have for a separate little snack. Both were delicious! Oh - and save your glass jars for food storage!  Jar on the right is left from my juice cleanse with  @potionbymim and on the left - I love @olivegreenorganics jarred salmon and the jars are great for sauces, dressings, spices and small portions of leftovers.
