PLANT POWER? 🇳🇮
Anyone who has followed my nonsensical ramblings for more than six months will know that I have a somewhat 'unique' running action. Unique in the sense that too much volume/high intensity stuff causes my left tibia to get very stressy and eventually fracture (hence several prolonged layoffs in the last 3 years). I have felt a couple of worrying pinches whilst training in the last week so my lovely Nicaraguan family/support team have put me on a course of natural treatment which includes a nightly aloe vera rub/compress. Does it work? Hopefully you can ask me on the start lines of #bostonmarathon#londonmarathon#berlin42#chicagomarathon
Look out weekend, here I come. Because weekends were made for runs 🎶 😂 NEW start time for @ommovement run club: 8:00 am! Same FREE fun ➡️ 5K run + yoga stretch. My munchkins will probably be there tomorrow so it’s family-friendly, too 🤗 photo by: @devinrhymeswith7 #ommovement#consciousnessinmotion#elevate
Today starts the journey towards the #lincolnmarathon in May. Nice easy run outside to get my legs back after not running for a week, aside from a small 5k I did at the resort last Monday. Felt great to relax and I have missed my runs. Today was 43*, 15+ mph winds, and some sidewalks still have ice and snow, so that helped me keep it easy. First long run tomorrow and I have all the feels! 🏃🏼♀️
"You can if you're crazy enough to believe that you can"
Long run completed, but more importantly, a rest day tomorrow. This training cycle is hard! I'm really grateful for rest days now.
Own The Outcome!
We are ALL in some form of marathon training!!!

We ALL are “marathoners”, we ALL have amazing journeys to get there, we are all...#Finishers !
4 slow & easy miles with my neighborhood running group this morning. I tend to run slower when I’m with this running group so it’s perfect for recovery days & great for helping me vary my paces! Plus: uninterrupted talk time, no kids allowed! 🙌🏼🙌🏼#halfmarathontraining#motherrunner#winterrunning#irunthisbody
When all else goes wrong, RUN! -------------
You know those days were you're mad, you're sad, you're confused, you're upset? Sometimes all at different times and sometimes all once? (The joys of being a female😂) Well today was one of those days for me. I showed up at the gym with tears in my eyes because you know, one of those days. I changed shoes and hoped that some miles and some music would be just what I needed.
And guess what? It was.
I didn't think I had anything left to put into today's run, but life surprised me and my heart and my legs just poured out on that treadmill. It sure seems like a little emotional baggage can fuel a run. Anyone else?
Now are the world's problems solved an hour later? Hell no. But I'm much more at peace than I was 7 miles ago. And I'm probably much more enjoyable to be around now too 😉
Runs don't fix everything. But if you let them, they can sure fix a lot. 👊🏻
A recent read from one of my favorite authors (Steve Magness and Brad Stulberg), I came across some practical principles that will allow anyone to set the foundation for a better “YOU” and can relate to any fitness or exercise endeavor you choose to take...First, focus on the process, not the results. Stop stressing about external outcomes, focus your energy on the things you can control one day at the time, lift off any burden about expectations; most likely, the desired outcome will happen as a byproduct of enjoying and focusing in the process rather than in the end result. Secondly, stay humble and maintain an open mind. Humility is the key to growth. Third, take consistent small steps to achieve big gains. Habits build upon themselves. If you want significant change, it’s wise to do so gradually and overtime. Slowly increase the challenge, what was hard this week will seem easier later on. Small and consistent victories compound overtime leading to massive gains. Finally, don’t get caught up on really bad days, don’t get caught up in really good days either, take the long view. What matters is whether or not you are becoming a better version of yourself.
As for me, starting to see the gains from consistent work for several months. A better me is a stronger me!!!
#workoutoftheday
-------- Love Promises -------
People says that love is a complex feeling and somehow I believe that the complexity about love is to see it as something complex....
Love does not need to be filled with other feelings because pure love means to give everything understanding that reciprocity is there... is not that you expect something from someone but is to give your best understanding that your loved one is also doing that...
There can be bad moments for everyone and that's the beautiful about love... to be a partner understanding that someday you will be good and other day maybe not but support will always exist...
Love is to share and love is to dream!!
Love is to give the best and love is to do what's best for both...
Because Love is a two people feeling and when both draw the path to the future, you can be certain it will be a strong one!!
Throwback Thursday celebrating 7 Months with Danny @dannydelriol!
This picture reflects that love is a feeling that goes beyond distance and places...
One day we will be together looking for that lock!!!
#tbt to one of my favourite days in my running career. standing in front of the ginormous mirror in our @airbnb room, knowing I was READY to fly. while it can’t be the @chimarathon everyday, sometimes you gotta #tbt and remind yourself that YOU ARE STRONG AF. 💪🖤 #idofortytwopointtwo
Tonight I was reading all of the advice people were giving for rookies at @chimarathon and one stood out for me - wear your name on your t-shirt! I ran the @great_run half marathon in Newcastle back in 2016 and it made such a big difference when you heard strangers shouting your name (sometimes you weren't sure if it was for you but ran with it anyway! 😂😂). I've made a point of doing the same thing when supporting at races. What's your top tip when preparing for race day?
#tbt it’s still hard to believe 3 months ago I ran a marathon and raised over $13,000 for Tej & Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. No physical possession or amount of money compares to the feeling of doing something so selfless. Palak was near 9 months pregnant on race day and still managed to get her twin sons and family navigated through 1.1 million spectators crowding the streets that day just to see me run by for 15 seconds. Her husband Phil jumped in and ran miles 19-25.5 with me, feeding me bananas and dumping water on my head. These are things I’m just so incredibly grateful for, things they didn’t have to do, but they wanted to do. And I can tell you I’ve never felt love like that and man, it far exceeds any other feeling. #thankful#thankfulthursday#thankfuleveryday#mychicagomarathon#chicagomarathon#endduchenne
Had some fantastic news from my physio earlier today...my knee should be fine in time for the London Marathon 🎉🎉 she thinks it’s built up scar tissue from when I actually injured it in 2017...which would explain why it’s inflamed and sore. Will be getting an MRI just to be sure, but she says it doesn’t look or feel sinister. Will be doing my physio exercises twice a day now, along with my mobility work from my PT, strength training, pool running, spinning and weekly physio sessions.
