Rainy mornings are probably one of my favorite things, and another one of my most favorite things is going the juicery back home. I swear, I could spend hours in there chatting with everyone who comes in. Currently sitting, drinking my cold brew, and about to get read to go meet with the ladies of @chaarg for the intern getaway day (yay for team bonding)!! More to come in a short ✨💃🏼
Well, it's Nora's turn in the sickness. 😷 These were the only 5 minutes that she hasn't been in my arms. It's a rainy day, and it appears my place is in the couch with both kiddos today. Does anyone have rainy day/sick day activities for kiddos? Nora is currently not functioning beyond laying on me, but I'm hoping to maybe get some activities for Eli while she probably naps more today.
Let's be honest, it's easy to get a little snarky about happily ever after type endings. It's easy to scroll through someone's perfectly curated feed and roll your eyes at the fact that "they" are getting engaged, or married, or paying off their student loan debt completely (😱 teach me your ways!), or "they" are buying a house or are starting their dream job right out of college.⠀
Social media makes it easy for us to think we are going without or that we need to keep up with the Jones'. Well, I'm here to remind you, dear friends, that this social media thing. . . It is just a highlight reel!⠀
Everyone loves sharing good news and accomplishments, but hardly anyone wants to share the struggle or the hard work. No one really talks about the stressful, sleepless nights after you've eaten a whole carton of Ben and Jerry's by yourself. 🙈⠀
I want to be that person, though, who keeps it real with you guys and to remind you that you are enough! When I'm throwing myself pity parties, I stop and think about all the good in my life.⠀
I am so blessed to have my family, hot water when I shower, a man who loves me down to my soul, and food when I'm hungry. I'm grateful to have presents on my birthday, to travel sometimes, for my good education, to laugh with friends, and the ability to chase my dreams! There are so many things in life that are simple and wonderful that ground me when I feel like I don't have as much as so-and-so on social media.⠀
So if today you're scrolling and you have a knot of envy or pity in your stomach, just remember that you are enough! Just keep showing up, doing the hard work, and remember that behind every successful person there a two baskets of dirty laundry! ⠀
Be the light, and don't forget to pass it on. 💕 #courtneycarolynphotography#ccplovestories ⠀
These sweet ones made it into the top 30% of the #shootandshare contest! And I can't say I'm surprised--look at that joy! Anthony and Sherene were a delight to photograph for their 5 year wedding anniversary. There's something really special about telling the continuing story of a couple and their life together. So often we focus on the milestones of engagement and the actual wedding day--which don't get me wrong, I LOVE--but how much more important and beautiful is how that love story continues into marriage? These two love eachother deeply and it was an honor to celebrate this milestone with a photo session!
