Daughter came home with coughs yesterday. The combo of wildfire smoke & ash, stress, fatigue, plus, the start of our cold weather...perfect storm for respiratory issues.
I had to bust out ye olde sicky chicken soup, chockfull of healing onions, garlic, & ginger. I served it up with some SPSN (sweet potato starch noodles), bokchoy, & a squeeze of lemon. 🍋
Oh, this is also our very late lunch today.
She also gets shots of oregano oil. These lonely shot glasses only come out now for acv, liver cleanse,& adrenal fatigue cocktail 🍹 shots. Sometimes, it’s also a water shot glass for our fave toddler princess, 👸 Shelby.
Daughter also gets mullein tea made in the French press. It’s effective for respiratory issues, Inflammation, & infection. Yup, she’s getting 3 cups of that today. Bonus: it helps digestive issues & thyroid function, among many other benefits.
While my other big baby’s taking a nap, I gtg to Sprouts. I ran out of monolaurin.
One thing’s for sure, no matter how old our kids are, they’ll aways be our babies. 💕👶
Knocking up an Asian chicken stock for an autumnal noodle soup. No cold can handle it! #chickensoup#coldremedy Garlic, ginger, star anise, carrots, celery, turmeric, chilli... the list goes on. It's my own shiz and it's awesome.
There is something highly satisfying when cooking on a stove burner.
The chicken soup recipe has been passed down 3 generations, it is simple but perfect.
Every time as authentic as the last.
Every time as delicious as before.
Good ole traditional food enjoyed as it should be on a dark evening in October. In front of a fire.
