Our City Road was a free facilitated construction play event produced for City of Melbourne's Sunday Streets program. @littleartbigart and I co-facilitated the making of cardboard city vehicles with families and then children could race their neighbours in a footrace with their cardboard creation!
The Great Willy Boat Race was a free, facilitated, drop-in style construction play event suitable for children aged 2+ years as part of a school holiday activation at Commonwealth Reserve, Williamstown.
Inspired by the shipbuilding heritage of Melbourne's west and the Williamstown marina, The Great Willy Boat Race invited children (and adults!) to build to make their own version of a bottomless boat using only cardboard boxes and recycled craft materials.
Children then 'launched' their boat in a foot race - The Great Willy Boat Race - and were able to take their boat home for more play.
Produced for @hobsonsbaycc and co-facilitated by @littleartbigart
This colourful, adorable sculpture is composed entirely of children’s toys and kids can actually play inside it! It’s at the Musee national des beaux-arts du Quebec in Quebec City. #art#museum#childrensplay
I love this play scene that is continually changing and drawing us back to... with real pretend snow! Our Snow Land has been influenced by story themes from @cbeebieshq Snow Queen and Frozen. But with added frogs, unicorns, arctic animals and paw patrollers. There’s also a snow leopard and the photographer is Kai I believe. I’m so fascinated!
While daddy works Olivia and I are enjoying a pj morning. First thing to do on her list was of course painting. She would sit here all day if she could mixing the colours and making her very own masterpieces 🎨
Tomás and the Library Lady opens on the 13th of January, in Redwood City Downtown Library, at 11am. Come and enjoy the show! 😊🎭. Fuse Theatre is producing a touring stage production of Jose Cruz Gonzalez’s play adaptation of Pat Mora’s children’s book Tomás and the Library Lady.
This bi-lingual play is the boyhood story of Tomás Rivera and how he befriended a librarian in Iowa who encouraged him to read. Tomás, the child of migrant farm workers, became a writer, a professor, and a national education leader. Rising to become the Chancellor at University of California at Riverside. The campus library now bears his name. The play includes a cast of three with puppets and projections that create a magical journey of discovery.
