Here's a fun fact. Cardio - not really my thing. But I am obsessed with the way I feel when it's DONE... I tried something new today. When I felt like whining & saying "oh my gawd I'm dying!!😩😩" -----I tried "This is awesome, I'm alive!❤️" I know...it might sound hokie but it actually worked.
Working in healthcare & being 45 years old, I see more & more people around going thru scary health problems that when not cared for or ignored can all life-consuming and completely overwhelming. Diabetes, high blood pressure, smoking, depression, heart disease, addiction, chronic back, knee....generalized all over pain. Just take these pills or worse yet......I see many wear the health issue as an excuse cape to not improve or change because "it is what it is". Taking care of your body is the single most important thing you can do. If you don't take the time to do it now....who will do it for you later? You have the power to change. ----

Ok...here’s a first #transformationtuesday
So far it’s been about 6 weeks of exercise over the course of the last 2 1/2 months. If I wasn’t sold after my first 3 week round, I certainly am now! I’m really enjoying my new #dadbod , and I can’t wait to see where this story continues to take me!
And my favorite part of the story is that I get to take people on this journey with me! Everyday I’m getting more and more people to join me in this adventure toward health, and I couldn’t be more grateful to be of service!
I really appreciate all the encouragement and kudos from my friends...Thank you!!! 🙏🏻 But like the saying goes, if I can do it, so can you. So please don’t just follow MY story, create your own! Im here to help because I’m only a couple months ahead of you.

Did I mention that I’m a woman obsessed with being confident and comfortable in the skin I’m in? But good golly, that’s a challenging process and it’s still something I have to work at every freakin’ day.
Here’s a #transformationtuesday glimpse at the progress I’ve made while on my journey from scrawny mom of 4 to fit mom of 4. (And a glimpse of my undergarments, if you find it offensive, oh well!) For far too long my goal was skinny. I gave birth to my first child at 21 and the thought of getting my pre-baby bod back consumed me. Think limited calories, tons of cardio, & even Slim Fast. SO gross! You guys, my husband used to even joke that he sponsored me. Wtf?! Now combine that mindset with nursing each kiddo for 12+ months and you’ve got a momma who’s not only scrawny but pretty dang nutrient deficient. They literally sucked it all out of me. Hence the 3 root canals needed after each nursing session. Please know, I don’t regret those special moments, I regret not knowing how to make myself a priority to ensure MY health as well as theirs.
It wasn’t until my littlest was a year old that I finally found the motivation, the support, the tools & the knowledge I needed to make a much needed change!
New goals...To choose STRONG & HEALTHY every damn day!!! (And if I could grow some biceps, a booty, & some curves that would be cool too.) So I made the commitment to better myself.
To put in the work.
To be patient.
To be consistent.
To gain accountability.
To fuel right and enough!
To strive for progress not perfection.
To make myself a priority and not feel selfish.
To pick up some weights and build those muscles...no more stupid excuses!
I’m here to tell you, not all transformations are about losing, some of us have SO much to gain. And the effort & determination needed to make it happen is much the same. ❤️ .

Saw avocado toast on someone’s feed today because #toasttuesday and National #SuperfoodsDay so now you’re getting my amateur version of that. 😂🍞
@daveskillerbread (basically the only bread I ever buy now), hass avocadooooo 🥑, salt & pepper. Then on the other side is some @lantanafoods white bean hummus 😌 and Campari tomatoes 🍅.
And yes this is me overloading you with foodie pics and idgaf. I’m trying to get better at food presentation/photography(mostly with an iPhone because #convenience ). Why? Idk. I just know I can always improve in areas and this is one of them. I also want to show you guys that I’ve been eating a lot more nutritionally dense foods because they provide so much more for your body than super over processed foods.
So there. Now you know. And you can like it or not like it. I’ll still be posting my normal random gym selfies and such but #foodiepics will be scattered in more frequently. Not sorry if I make you hungry. 😋🤤😉
I was always one of those girls growing up that was naturally thin. I never worried about what I was eating and stayed super active as a dancer and competitive cheerleader. But then the college years hit, along with marriage and motherhood...and before I knew it I was a mom of three, working long hours as a nurse, with no time or energy left to devote to myself. .
On my youngest’s third birthday I found myself weighing in at my heaviest non-pregnant weight ever, up three sizes, binging on junk constantly, worn out all the time, and more than anything, totally disappointed in myself. I KNEW I could do better and decided right then that I wouldn’t EVER allow myself to reach that point again. So while I might not look a lot different from my high school days, these two girls are like LIFETIMES apart! .
Yes, I’ve made a lot of physical transformations over the years that I’m so freakin’ proud of. But more than that, I’m SO proud of my inner transformations! I’ve gained friendships and a sense of community. I’ve gained confidence and love for myself just as I am. I’ve gained motivation and a drive to better myself and help those around me do the same!

Not your normal #transformationtuesday but what’s normal about me 🤷♀️
I use to eat whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted. I was and I’m still known for “being able to put away some food”. People just say it less now because I pack my lunch instead of seeing me at the vending machine every break 😂
At work I lived out of the vending machine. -
Now I eat things that are shown on the right. Sure I still have treats and unhealthy food but no where near as much as I use to and it’s getting less and less each day 🙌🏼
People would see me eat donut stick after donut stick, candy bar after candy bar, chips on top of chips. Usually someone always had something to say. Like, “oh my gosh how are you not as big as a house and eat all that?” “Are you eating another pack of cupcakes?”
Now people say things like, “that’s all you’re eating?” ( I have to remind them I eat 6 times a day). “Shew, how do you eat peas? Sweet potatoes? All that healthy food?” -
What I’m saying is, people are always going to have something to say about what you do. So don’t let people stop you from making healthier decisions. So what if they say something about you bringing your healthy lunches and Greek yogurt that reminds them of sour cream 😂. Every time someone ask me what I’m eating while I’m eating Greek yogurt, I tell them sour cream just to see their faces lol. -
Choose healthier to feel better. Sure it’s hard when you someone eating a burger and fries but at the end of the day you will feel better and have a lot more energy! I know I do when I choose healthy over cravings 💙🖤

Deconstructed burgers are one of my heathy favorites!! 😋🍔 You get ALLL the burger flavors without the guilt & belly bulge! 👍🏼 If we allow ourselves to actually take the time to ENJOY our food, we start to find happiness in planning, preparing, & eating the food that fills our bodies! 🙌🏼 This might sound like a crazy concept to some, because we are all SOOO busy, but if you don’t take the time to care of you, what version of you are you really giving to your career, your family, your friends?? 🤷🏼♀️ What If “Healthy” became natural for you? 🤯 Like there was no other way to be. It was who you are and what you exude. 💪🏼🥦 What if you didn’t have to wonder or think twice about HOW to be the healthiest & best version of yourself? 🤔
4 years between pics. They dont look crazy drastically different but whats majorly different is my mindset and especially my diet!
In the first pic I was about a week out from a bikini competition. I remember eating cold jellied tilapia and asparagus in-between looks of that shoot 🤢 I was so hungry but I loved the feeling of pushing past it. I lived for that.
Spoiler alert - thats not healthy. Its not healthy for your body but its even more dangerous for your mentality and relationship with food. If you feel yourself recognizing that feeling, pull back.
Fast forward to now. I eat when I want to. I don’t weigh food. I don’t track macros. I don’t know how many calories I burn a day. I don’t know how many calories I eat a day. I don’t limit myself to anything or “force” myself to eat anything. I eat as I please and I train how I want. Some days I train my hardest and other days I stretch and just focus on being active. I just live to be happy and healthy!
From strict dieting for so many years I have learned what portion sizes look like and what my body likes. Everything I eat, I have a general idea of what it contains and how to go about my day based on it. My biggest advice for long term success with nutrition and training is to pay attention to what you are doing and learn from it. Also don’t be afraid to step outside your mindset and look at yourself and what you’re doing. Sure being in the “zone” is good, however be sure your “zone” is healthy and good for you. It took me years to do that and I wish I had done it sooner.
You are in control & theres only 1 of you. Be good to yourself and be HEALTHY! You’ll always be happy with healthy.

Thanks to a little extra nap time from my girl yesterday, I was able to knock out and plan/prep the rest of my meals for the next few days. .
Meal planning will forever be my nemesis. But then again that’s what I said about getting my workouts in on top of taking care of 2 Little’s plus being a working mom. .
Nothing changes if nothing changes. You can do it your way, but are you happy with your results? .
I wasn’t. So I took a chance. Made a change. And haven’t looked back. Except maybe to see just how far I’ve come!!

Catch me surfing on the waves of this tropical smoothie bowl this morning 😉🏄🏼♀️ It had been a hot second since I’d had a classic green smoothie bowl and let me tell you - it hit the SPOT!! I got in such a groove of making my squash smoothie that I forgot that OH YA smoothies can be full of things other than squash too!!! But trust me, a little squash still made it in here. Did you expect anything less from the squash queen? 😉 Loaded up with so many goodies to keep me feeling as good as I do with everyone else getting sick 🙏🏻 You can never be too safe! I questioned if this bowl was “fun” enough, “loaded” enough or “unique” enough for the gram and then I realized it’s fun, loaded and unique enough for ME and that’s what really matters ☺️ I truly aim to always be REAL with y’all and only show what I truly eat. So yes, some days I take extra time making something extra special and beautiful (cue the edible flowers and fancy avocado patterns) but the reality is, I’m 22-years-old with too much life to live and too many goals to crush to always make my food a piece of art 😌 AND I want to show others that eating healthy doesn’t have to be fancy 😚
Taking advantage of my low census call🙌🏻with some extra “me” time this morning. And I think some tea, a little more reading, and a lot more relaxing is in order.
Unexpected time off for me is so rare, and while I’d normally blast off on my to do list in productivity mode, I’m choosing to slow down today, listen to my heart, and just be💜
