Your mind is a big part of training. When I’m not in the zone or am distracted even just getting to the gym can be a struggle. My results become weaker then what I am capable of ! I have to learn to flip the switch and feel good about my training and all of the positive results it gives me. Loving what you do sets off a trail of positivity and makes everything you do feel much better! The results will then take care of themselves!!
“Being fat is hard. Being healthy is hard. Choose your hard.“ #fulldisclosurefriday ok so it's been an emotional few weeks for me battling a lot of old demons and self doubt. Anyone that knows me knows my journey and set backs with fitness and self care these last years and I find myself back at "square one yet again" it it's a tough freakin place to be 😭 the shift to begin again started a few weeks back. I LOVE hiking and have been able to get out for some awesome ones with some kickass peeps the last while. Trouble is - my usual happy place has been tarnished by some ugly stuff on the inside 😢 - Yes i was smiling on the outside but dying on the inside - instead of truly being present t and enjoying the beauty and the friends around me on our adventures was lost fighting a fight in my own head feeling out of shape, out of breath, in pain, fat, ashamed, embarrassed, frustrated and angry at myself for letting myself go. I've been stuck in a rut and I even shared with my daughter just last week that I was embarrassed to go back to our gym which is one of my fav places full of kickass support people because of my own insecurities of where I am at. I know it sounds silly but those voices in our heads can be loud and all consuming sometimes - I have had to get real with myself the last few days and am working hard to shut down the negative self-talk ... I'm facing the fear and doing it anyway... I know it will be tough but I also know it will be worth it... it's time to reprogram my thoughts again... listening to a couple of podcasts yesterday helped too - thanks @jeremyreidfitness @janababefit and @reconstructing_rick for sharing from your heart and being real - Your words were heard 💞 I'm tired of being sick and tired and I need to get back to being my best me and i'm grateful for so many kickass peeps around me as I battle my demons... #chooseyourhard#myjouney#onedayatatime#progressnotperfection#grateful#gotime#fitnessinspiration#fitspiration#mybestme#fitcity
Imagine a gym that meets you where you are. A gym where you don't need to worry about judgement. A gym that encourages you to safely do things you never thought you were capable of. We've found our happy place. Why not make it yours, too?
One benefit of being over 40 is having been around the block enough to know that life is about choices.💋 As a kid, I often got told I was bossy or too strong-willed or took things too seriously. It took me a long time to realize that leaders are often misunderstood by others who are afraid to stand apart from the crowd. I made the mistake of trying to blend in and become what I thought people expected me to be: demure, “nice”, undemanding...always sugar-coated with a practiced smile to indicate I was problem-free. That’s a lot to hold together, and it never really fit well on me. Today? The woman in the picture operates in freedom and confidence, two key things that were missing in her life before. She doesn’t wish for results. She works for them. She doesn’t mistake wishes for reality. She’s got grit, and made the decision we all make: either work for a boss, or become one. What choice do you think she made? What choice will you make as you design your life plan? Health & fitness gave me so much more than my health back... it gave me a dream career I never would have dared to risk achieving 10 years ago. It doesn’t take education. Just some determination, consistency, a willingness to be open & real, and a passion for making hospitals and doctor’s offices less necessary due to how many people you are helping. If this resonates with you...if you aren’t sure but you’re open to the possibility, let’s chat about it some more. The good news and bad news is: what your life looks like is totally dependent on you. (P.S. We’re you a “bossy” kid too?) #chooseyourhard#womeninbusiness#freedom#grit#empoweringwomen#healthcare#positivity#success
No one is going to do it for you.
Let me say that again.... No one. Is going. To do it. For you.
Much like applying for a job. You can't just say to the universe "I need a job" and sit back and wait for the phone to ring! No. You have to go out and hand your resume out. You have to go to job interviews. Phone interviews. Possibly take tests. You have to put forth the EFFORT in order to get that job you want! Same with health and fitness. You wanna lose 50 pounds? Well sitting on your ass and wishing for it isn't going to magically melt the unwanted fat off of your body. You have to WORK for what you want.
Will it be HARD? Yeah. I'm not saying it's easy. But to me, sitting there and not doing anything about it is HARDER. Your choice. ✌🏻.
Pushing yourself in your workout is hard. Lacking energy and feeling uncomfortable in your skin is hard.
Choose your hard.

Kicking day 47/90 in the bootay!
Feeling better and stronger for getting back on track. Thankful for friends who love me enough to push me. I need accountability and motivation just like anyone else!
It’s 30 minutes folks! 1/42 of your day. You’ve got time.
today i went shopping 🛒! and bought some new pants, and well returned and rebought some new pants 👖! why you may ask? because i bought the wrong size.. because i apparently am wearing 3 sizes too big 😳
at first i was in shock and couldn’t believe it. so i tried on a few more... and sure enough fit like a glove 🤜🏻🤛🏻 and then 2 things happened! 👆🏻 i was instantly thankful for my superfoods and all 30 minute workouts i’ve done in the last few months because i don’t think i’ve EVER 🙅🏼been this size before! not even in high school! ✌🏻i couldn’t believe my figure! because when you wear clothes that ACTUALLY FIT you instantly look like you’ve lost weight. seriously who wants a saggy butt and no boobs ?! i don’t think any woman does? 🙅🏼when you buy clothes that fit your body they accentuate your shape and make you
look 👀 (and then feel) SO MUCH BETTER!🦄 so do yourself a favor 👉🏻 invest in your HEALTH 🤸🏼♀️ and go buy yourself some NEW PANTS 👖
Avocado & Hot Sauce is the Key to My Heart. SO obsessed with this homemade salsa... I’ve been putting it in everything, including my eggs. And then of course I put Tabasco on top of it because #hotsauceinmybagswag . Full believer in the fact that you can never have too much heat. Also LOVE being able to cook and eat foods that still taste good even though they’re clean. So many people think that eating clean means eating plain and boring... WRONG! Reach out for some bomb ass recipes that will make your mouth water 🥑🌶🔑❤️
Getting off track sucks and you don't really feel it until you start to get back on track. A few things I have realized since I started making healthier choices/working out again and taking better care of myself not only physically but mentally as well: .
🔥I have WAY more energy. ⚡️
🔥 I am in a WAY better mood 😌
🔥 It’s helped control my post-partum depression by A WHOLE friggin’ LOT 🙌🏼
🔥 Which has minimized my anxiety (even though I still have my bad days- just not multiple bad days!) 💪🏻
🔥 It’s improved my relationship with others ✊🏼
🔥 I feel so full of life- as corny as that may sound 💃🏻
🔥 And I am starting to feel more confident again! 💁🏻
It’s the little changes we make that add up to how much better we can feel. Yes making healthier choices and getting up to workout is hard, but so is being unhealthy. It’s up to us to choose our hard 💥 #chooseyourhard

I don't have time! That is the most frequent excuse I hear! Making time to workout is hard... Making healthy food choices is hard... Committing to improving your health is hard... But you know what is also hard? Walking up one flight of stairs and being out of breath is hard... Stuffing yourself with something yummy and then feeling like crap later is hard... Not being comfortable in your own skin is hard... Not wanting to take your kids to the pool because you're self-conscious is hard. The good news? You get to choose your hard! Finding THIRTY MINUTES in your day is actually pretty easy if it's a priority! Lock the kids up, skip some social media time, put your phone on silent... Make the time for yourself!
I was reminded several times in the last 24 hours that I CAN DO HARD THINGS!
There was a time when I would count the minutes it would take me to get up and get out the door. I knew exactly how many times I could push snooze. I knew that it took me 7 minutes to shower if I needed to be fast. I knew the gas station stop for a fruit parfait and an extra large cappuccino would take 12 minutes. I would walk through the door at work 1 minute prior to start time. God forbid traffic be crazy! I had it down to a science. THAT WAS HARD!
There was a time when getting home from work meant grabbing something from the freezer. You know those meals that give you a cook time... 25-30 minutes. I would set the timer for 30 minutes because then if know for sure out was done instead of getting up from the couch only to find it needed an extra few minutes. The idea of moving more than I had to was daunting! I'd sit on the couch until dinner, then grab dinner and eat it on the couch. My dishes would be left on the coffee table because taking them to the sink required more energy. I sat on the couch watching television and scrolling Pinterest to get ideas for exercise and healthy meals I could cook when "SOME DAY" finally came, and I miraculously had all the energy, and all the motivation to get healthy. Just thinking about it exhausted me. THAT WAS HARD!
One day I took a DVD out of its case, put it in the player, & pushed play. I was supposed to have 2 sets of dumbbells. I had two water bottles that weighed a pound and a set of five pounders. The workout was 30 minutes. I had to stop after each move to catch my breath. It took an hour. But I did it! The next day I could barely walk up the stairs because I was so sore. THAT WAS HARD!
Today I woke up before my alarm.
Today I made the hubs a salad for lunch.
Today I am pushing play on a yoga practice that will take 30 minutes.
Today my toddler will demand my full attention all day long.
Today I'm going to work from home.
Today I will clean the house, do laundry, do dishes, and vacuum all while chasing a toddler and running two businesses.
TODAY WILL BE HARD!
I CAN DO HARD THINGS.
YOU CAN DO HARD THINGS.
CHOOSE YOUR HARD!❤
GRATITUDE 🙏🏼 was one of best practices I incorporated into my daily routine... I shared this post with my group this morning 💜 and wanted to share it with more people because it changed my life!
I honestly didn’t fully know or practice gratitude until beginning of this year.. so this took some time and effort. ( thank you Tony Robbins “talking to me every single day”😜😜😜). #forevergreatfull
I started practicing it when my life was turned upside down, where things were uncertain and scary. When I felt all the anxiety, sadness and stress you can possible feel.. When my emotional pain was so intense I was becoming physically sick...
It was a discipline to remind myself of the many reasons I have to be grateful. But it was an exercise well worth the discomfort 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 It wasn’t easy to practice that when your life is falling apart but I knew this was one of those daily routines that is going to help me survive the hard times and rise above.
So, Here’s my challenge to you: Take some time today, wherever you are and whatever you’re doing, to come up with a gratitude list. 😌🙏🏼
If it doesn’t come naturally, don’t let that stop you from still giving thanks. There is still much to be thankful for, if we only have eyes to see.💜 Here are some of my reasons to give thanks today:
1. I am thankful for my health, for being able to exercise daily, to move my body the way it was meant to and play with my kids freely!
2. I am thankful for my family, for my healthy, happy little firecrackers 😜😜 and my husband, Mark who is always there for me and loves me for who I am.
3. I am thankful for 🦄 ,color purple, glitter ✨ , emojis and sparkly shoes 🙈
4. I am thankful for living my purpose, for doing work that matters, that changes lives! 🙏🏼
5. I’m thankful for social media, it can be used in a very positive way and connect so many people across the world!🌎
6. I’m thankful for home workouts! I mean, home workouts are where it’s at ( 80% of the time ) these days for this mama !! 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻
Those are just a few things from my list. Now it’s your turn.. what are you thankful for today?! I would love to hear them👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼
"If you have the courage to begin, then you have the courage to succeed!" .
Trust me - the hardest part is the first step. It always is. There's that uncertainty, the what-ifs, the self doubt and the limiting self beliefs...it can be crippling. .
And you can just sit there and let those doubts and fears dictate your life, OR you can just begin...then you CAN succeed! You need to take that first step though. It starts with little things; those habits you have that are doing you no good. A little change every day amounts to some really big changes over time! I can attest to that. .
Do you have 30 minutes a day?
Do you have a desire to become the healthiest version of you?
Do you want to feel energized? Happy? Confident?
Do you want to feel comfortable in your skin?
Do you want to be part of an awesome group of ladies where we hold each other accountable? .
Ive got spots open for my November challenge group! If youre ready for a healthy lifestyle change, let's talk! Comment "Im ready" below OR shoot me a message!
Now more than ever this speaks so loud to me.
I think we are all guilty at some stage or another of falling short of our dreams and goals because we are too afraid to step outside of our comfort zones. We take that "safe" job, we make the "easy" choice or we try and reason with ourselves that we don't "deserve" that life.
It is only when we make the conscious decision to step outside of ourselves and truly challenge our way of thinking that we can begin on the path to the life that we truly seek.
Over the past few months I can happily say that I have leapt outside of my comfort zone to find my vehicle to who and where I want to be in life. I have met so many incredible and inspiring people along the way who I proudly call my friends and my tribe.
If you have a dream, make it a plan!! Step outside of your safe zone, make the leap and never look back!
There's always a choice 🤔
Are your actions in alignment with your goals?
Change can be hard due to the hardwired programs we run in our bodies - that have been running the show for years!! If you want things to be different, you have to commit to doing things differently, one day at a time, day after day.
It’s about showing up and getting it done no matter what EXCUSES come up for you. I don’t work HARD just for me. I work out HARD for each and every person that somehow has bought into the lies that they tell themselves like “you can’t do that,” you are to old to start now”, “there is no way I can do what she does.” Listen you can do this and don’t get me wrong it won’t be EASY. And if someone tells you it is EASY, run because NOTHING WORTH HAVING IS EASY. You see you are WORTH so the EFFORT it will take you. You can do anything you set your mind to. You are CAPABLE of doing the HARD. The first thing you have to do is DECIDE, then COMMIT, and then START. I help people stay STARTED and Not GIVE UP on their DREAMS of being HEALTHY and FIT. If you need help like most people do on the “STAYING STARTED” part then message me or comment below that you are interested in learning how to not quit on yourself. It starts with being willing to change. So are you willing to change or are you ok with staying the same? It that’s simple. Stop complicating it. #itsnotcomplicated#chooseyourhard#yesyoucan
Sitting in school pick up yesterday and couldn't help but start thinking about how different it was for me during the early school years. See my parents both worked full time for pretty much my entire childhood. Which meant from the time I was a baby I spent most of my days away from them either in a daycare setting or with different family members. It was necessary at the time, and I'm ok with that. But to say it was easy on any of us would be a lie. Beyond the weird little nervous ticks my brother and I would periodically develop; I can only imagine how friggin stressful this all was on my parents!! 😲 Primarily my mom who not only worked full time but did a major portion of everything else for us kids and around the house. I yearned for a closeness with my parents that I would see in other families, but there just usually wasn't enough time or energy to go around. When I found out I'd be a mama there was no doubt in my mind that there had to be another way! There had to be a way for me to create a life where family is at the forefront!! Where I spend the most amount of my time with the people that I love the most! ❤ Doing work I'm passionate about that serves others AND helps support my family at the same time. I wracked my brain for years trying to find a way, prayed my little heart out, but nothing ever seemed to pan out. Until one day I met an amazing mama who would show me it is entirely possible to live the life I'd be dreaming of!! To say taking on a small business with a toddler and a baby was crazy, is obvi a #totalunderstatement . 😱 There were plenty of doubters, naysayers, haters....and there still are to this day. Working at a job you don't love, feeling sick and tired, being away from the home and family you work your butt off to provide for all the time is HARD. Working for your self, creating a personal brand, cheering on others without it being reciprocated, and having discipline to create an income is HARD. At some point each person has to #chooseyourhard . So what will yours look like? ✌❤

This is how I feel after my workout today! I definitely didn't feel this good before I pressed play! ...
Day 17/21 was scheduled for Pilates. Because I always seem to strain my neck during this workout I chose a different workout. This was not my excuse to skip. Instead No fear of I selected a new workout from my Netflix of workouts. ...
As I was choosing which one to do I could have chosen an easy workout. But would that push me and make me stronger? No. We need to push ourselves out of our comfort zone if we want to grow 🙌
So I chose my nemesis. Cardio! I always dread cardio but remind myself of how I feel after. One year ago I definitely would have settled for an easier workout. Today I want to sweat more, push harder and be better everyday! ...
Are you challenging yourself everyday?! It's definitely not always comfortable, but this is how we GROW!
Choose your “HARD”
Some think it’s hard to eat healthy, go grocery shopping, meal prep, exercise and be consistent.
I think it’s harder to be uncomfortable and unhealthy in your own skin. I think it’s harder to wear darker, baggier clothing because I don’t feel confident in the clothes that no longer fit. I think it’s harder to be jealous, envious and wish things were different. I think it’s harder to have no energy, sleep like crap and wake up late. .
I truly believe life will NEVER be easy and we will always be faced with “hard” decisions to make. It’s merely a matter of choosing your “HARD.”
Choose wisely - your life actually depends on it!
#busstopsselfie vs. #sweatyselfie
I'm reminding myself of the difference while embracing it and making the best of where I am today. •
I was less rushed ....... BUT I create the chaos by not getting up on time 🤔 my choice!!
I was able to help the kids along ....... BUT let's be real, they are no longer 5 and can dress 👖👕themselves!! •
It was harder to maintain a happy, patient mindset. Morning adrenaline makes me happy.
My brain is sluggish. I've been dropping everything, forgetting stuff at every turn ... morning adrenaline turns on my brain. 🤗
I tried on several outfits because nothing satisfied me 👚👠👗👢 Morning adrenaline gives me confidence and helps me FEEL better in my own skin. •
And, this is one of the many reasons I CHOOSE to workout every morning. Benefits outweigh the Battle!
“Mommy, that is YOU on this big poster at Heroic Fitness ”- Jonathan said that yesterday when he saw one of my photos from the shoot for @lululemon 💜💜💜 •
Creating Heroic... literally from the ground up was one of the coolest thing ever! Watching it being built, giving it name, giving it life, building a community, serving and helping people was one of the best and valuable experiences of my life..💜
I didn’t think it could get any better until I was asked to be the ambassador for the brand new location of lululemom at wood field mall. 💜 #forevergreatful •
I was happy like a child on Christmas morning 😁😁😁 for two reasons // 1. Obviously I love the clothes 🙄who doesn’t, right ?! // 2. They saw my love for fitness and my passion for helping others on their fitness journey.
I loved that. I loved that they saw that in ME... I guess they had to think I was one of the “cool kids” 😎😜 otherwise they wouldn’t be telling people to sweat with me 💦💪🏼 #sweatlife •
What did you see in me when you first trained, took a class with me ? What do/did you see in me when working, training, dancing, cycling, kickboxing with me ? I’m wondering what impact I left/leave on you! 💜💜💜 #ihopeitsgood
