Saturday workout crushed! So glad to be getting back into a routine again. Anybody else experience the post vacation chaos? Finally life is getting back in order, and crossing lots off my to do list. Here’s to a wonderful Saturday!
Curry Chicken Salad on Sweet Potato Toast - Makes 4 servings⠀
2 sweet potatoes⠀
2 chicken breasts, cooked and chopped or shredded⠀
¼ cup chopped cashews⠀
¼ cup chopped mango⠀
2 medjool dates, chopped⠀
½ cup chopped celery⠀
2 tablespoons chopped green onions⠀
3 tablespoons mayonnaise⠀
2 teaspoons curry powder⠀
1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar⠀
salt and pepper to taste⠀ ⠀
Sweet Potato Toast:⠀
SLICE sweet potatoes lengthwise into 1/4 inch slices. ⠀
ADD to the toaster like you would bread and toast on high. ⠀
TOAST them 2-3 times through until there is a little bit a browning on both sides.⠀
Cashew Curry Chicken Salad:⠀
IN a large bowl combine chicken, cashews, mango, dates, celery and green onions.⠀
IN a small bowl combine mayonnaise, curry powder and apple cider vinegar, then pour it over the chicken mixture. ⠀
TOSS to coat and season with some salt and pepper.⠀
SCOOP onto sweet potato toast and enjoy!

1/2 cup whole-wheat flour
2 egg whites
2 tsp canola oil
1/2 cup low-fat buttermilk
1/4 tsp salt
1 Tbsp part-skim ricotta
1/4 cup blueberries
1 tsp slivered almonds
1 tsp ground allspice
Mix first five ingredients. Add half the batter to a skillet over medium-high heat, and swirl to coat. Cook 30 seconds, flip, and cook 20 seconds. Make second crepe. Fill with ricotta and berries, roll up, and top with almonds and allspice.
Total: 427 calories
Between those egg whites and almonds, you're packing away enough protein to maximize weight loss all day.

🐔Here's an excellent Yoga Pose called the triangle pose that has so many benefits. My hamstring and inner thighs on the front leg felt and is very easy to modify like I'm demonstrating here!
🐦Here's how to perform the triangle pose!
👉I'm showing a modified version commonly used with a yoga block!
1️⃣Take a stance wider than shoulder width apart with toes pointing forward.
2️⃣Point one foot 90 degrees to the outside.
3️⃣The other will point in about 45 degrees.
4️⃣Reach the arms out to the side.
5️⃣Reach forward with your arm.
6️⃣Place block or hand near the front foot.
7️⃣Reach the other arm towards the ceiling.

I have been speaking to some of you and I definitely listen to your struggles.... I was doing a little research and found that over 38% of adults are considered obese. Over 17% of children and teens are considered obese. There are also over 30 million people that are on antidepressants and even worse-60 million people abuse drugs and alcohol. 😭😭😭 I guess I am a dreamer ❤️❤️❤️ but I want to make a difference. These are all things that we can change in our lives. These are things that we can make better choices and create a life of being healthy and happy!! But I think we need each other.
So, I want to create a Fit-Ohana (Ohana means family) where we can help each other be healthy and happy. 😆😆😆 I want to create a space where we:
1. Encourage each other to workout
2. Share healthy recipes and meal plans
3. Share positivity through books and positive motivation
4. Hold each other accountable
5. Include all things happy!!
6. No one is left behind

Thankful for a slow Saturday morning. Having time to make Oatless Oatmeal from The Grain Brain @davidperlmutter is divine!
Here are the four stages, starting in the upper left quadrant and going clockwise:
Blend the following in a food processor until course:
1/2 cup raw walnuts
1/2 cup pecans
4 TBS ground flax seeds
1 tsp allspice
1 tsp cinnamon
Then, in a bowl, whisk together, until a thick custard forms:
1/2 cup nut milk
Pinch of sea salt
Add to the that:
1 banana, mashed
2 TBS nut butter
1 TBS vanilla
Combine the dry and wet mixtures and cook over medium heat until you reach desired consistency. Stirring often.
Serve with an additional splash of nut milk, berries or pumpkin seeds and bacon! 🥓
I haven’t had fruit in about 6 weeks and my monitor showed that this had zero effect on my blood sugar levels, which is great! 👏
