What I eat in a day! When I tell people I don't eat dairy, sugar, or a lot of meat I often get asked- so what do you eat? Is it gross? Is it boring? Here is what a typical day looks for me.
✨Breakfast: GGs avocado toast with kraut.
✨Lunch: Mixed greens salad with roasted chickpeas and hemp seeds. Topped with a homemade cashew dressing.
✨Dinner: Spinach, topped with sweet potato, and tuna cakes or mushroom cakes, drizzled with lemon and olive oil.
✨Snacks include: nuts, veggies/hummus, bulletproof protein bars, my yummy protein balls.
✨I eat meals like this about 80% of the week. On the weekends when I eat out I usually choose a salad or a vegetarian dish.

Some of our life struggles include illnesses, aches and pains. In our culture, the most common view is that we “get” a disease or illness, as if it happened to us in some sort of random luck. We tend to say “I got arthritis” or “I got tinnitus.” This idea feeds the belief that we have no control, and are a victim of whatever illness happens to strike. The opposite extreme professes that we have created our own health problems, so we should be able, if we were aligned enough, to “un-create” them. This concept can lead to self-blame, to guilt, and to a hard determination to solve the problem. These feelings can be counterproductive, creating even more stress.
Neither of these viewpoints is completely accurate. In truth, we are not to blame for the physical symptoms we develop nor are we completely powerless. Every symptom is simply a part of our process and a message from our body and spirit. Each has its origins from old hurts and traumas, which, when healed, can lead to newfound wholeness. Through meditation, we can purify the mind and the body. This process consists of self-purification by self-observation, a meditation method I have learned during my 10-day Silent Vipassana meditation workshop. I said "workshop" instead of "retreat" because it required a lot of work, discipline, commitment, consistency, faith, and self-love to spend 8 hours a day for 10 straight days meditating only. I have learned that is useless to attach pleasure or pain to any sensation we experience on a daily basis. I have learned to observe my sensations and understand that sessions are always arising and passing away; they never last forever. The fact is that, sooner or later, we are all going to die but if we learn the art of living now, we will die with a beautiful smile on our face. Remember that, what matters is not how long we live, but how well we live. Live with passion! ❤️
