Deer Tree Farm is located on Rogers Mesa, an alluvial fan formation just west of Hotchkiss, Colorado. The soil is a beautiful stony loam full of volcanic rocks which allow for excellent drainage. The region is defined by these irrigated mesas, making it one of the richest agricultural regions in Colorado.
It's #gingerbrew time this Saturday! Who's joining us at @sojournerbeers for the #Gingerbread Bock release ($1 off your tab for every non-perishable food item brought supporting Denver Inner City Parish) and #gingerbreadhouse competition? We've also baked cookies, so come decorate with us! Karma Food Truck will be serving and Weatherbee and the Gnarbillys will be rockin'.
It's Todd's birthday today! He's celebrating by making deliveries to our favorite partners. How 'bout buying a cold one for the old one? 🤣🍻🤸 Cheers, Todd! 📸: @brewtographyproject
Midway through October, I had the pleasure of travelling to Denver, Colorado for work. I have always wanted to do a little traveling with my job; I love the opportunity to see new sights and grow in my career at the same time. I’m in the agri-food industry; these crop circles were fascinating from the sky! Apparently it has something to do with the irrigation and spraying systems. I want to learn more about that. ✈️🌾☁️ #Colorado#coloradoagriculture#cropcircles#windowseat#viewfromabove#october
Hey @grossenbartbrewery, Barleywine and Swine was killer. Lookin' good, @wally_bork.
So excited to have reached 1,000 followers!
Thank you to my friends and fans who have gotten me this far!
I look forward to educating the rest of you on the inter web about where Denver restaurants get their food!
Lets change Denver’s food system by continuing to support our local ranches and farms who make our budding food scene a reality!
Colorado is 3rd in milk production, 5th in average dairy cow herd size and 15th in total milk production in the U.S.. In 2012, Colorado dairies produced 2.9 billion pounds of milk. Dairy farms are an important part of the economy in each of our states. (Source: @westerndairy )
Most kids, adults, Oreos, and lucky charms enjoy and need milk for full nutritional benefit! 😉
Come drink and chow down and learn about the next generation of Colorado farmers!
The first annual Meat and Greet will bring local meat raised by Colorado FFA and 4-H families to the forefront. The evening will be a great opportunity to meet the young agriculturists that are changing the Colorado ag industry.
One of the main reasons I started this account was to educate Denver consumers on where their food comes from and to support the farms and ranches that supply that food. What better way to be educated than to meet the families that are raising/growing the food we love.
