Color Correction Part 3/3 While matching the morning light for certain scenes turned out to be easier than expected (see previous post); deciding on the look for the exterior motel scene turned out to be harder than expected. The motel was naturally lit by a large red source sign, which was then enhanced by the cinematographer's lighting choices. The tone of the scene was intended to infer that the protagonist is entering her own personal hell by choosing to go to this motel. And it serves as the audience's introduction to this location. The final grade mixes the red sources with yellow to set the ominous mood for the world that the protagonist is entering. @davinciresolve @ursamini #colorcorrection#independentfilm#cinematography#anamorphic#postproduction

#shadeoftheday : Keep an open mind for different techniques (this look is a combo of highlights, balayage, and colour melt) and make sure to communicate that a desired result sometimes needs multiple stages
Lynne literally put her hair in my hands and told me to take creative license!! She was ready for a brand new look and I was ready for the challenge! A big chop ✂️, a new base color and highs and lows completed this phenomenal transformation!
