It's been ONE YEAR (well almost) since the launch of my online shop!!! I started with this series of ink women.
It's been a learning curve.
To say the least!
Little did I know that what I thought was going to be THE answer to my life. Well it ended up being the door to much larger questions.
I thought making the art would be the hard part (it IS hard, but it's easy in comparison to running an art BUSINESS!!) Soooooo... have you guys subscribed to @artistmarketco newsletter?
I mean it's debasing to call it a newsletter . It's more of a marketing program that could (and does) cost hundreds of dollars. But it's free.
And it's incredible valuable.
For any of my creative biz people, YOU NEED THIS CLASS, even if your business isn't a thing right now.
Oh and in case you hadn't gotten the memo ... you should also sign up for MY LOVELETTERS, because they are far from being anything "news" worthy, but they guarantee the fuzzies 🌸💙💜🌸
Visit noble historical residences once and once, my blood is also becoming expensive day after day! 一直亂闖人家達官顯貴的家，真是不斷高攀呀！🏯🏰🏯
Last time I’ve visited an old house of xiucai (scholar), one who passed the imperial examination at the county level in the Qing dynasty. Today I visited an old house of high official over 300 years ago. Although they are both belong to traditional Chinese style, you can easy to find that they have totally different looks of the walls. They call it ‘Anhui architectural design’ (徽派建築). It should be in Anhui but was moved into Taoyuan. If you are a huge fan of architectural design, take a look here, you’ll love it!🌈
👨🎓🎉💞Today this little guy graduated from his preschool. Some of these special teachers have been caring for and guiding him since he was only crawling. So much gratitude to these amazing women. They've helped him grow into a curious and creative little boy. We are all ready for his next step, but saying good-bye to them today was still hard. Wishing every little person the same opportunity to grow with this kind of love.
In my early teens, as any good teen of the 90s, I was super into astrology, tarot, crystals and all things mystical.
I drew maidens with long flowing hair on banks of raging oceans.
I loved Jim Morrison . Specially his poetry. Which is garbage.
I loved Eddie Vedder
I listened to far too much whale songs to be considered "normal" amounts of whale sounds.
I seem to be going back to those things recently (minus whale music- to everyone's relief). These @minimalist.oracle cards have been a super fun part of my morning routine.
Ironic that today's card is Inner Work.
Ive been going down a vortex (nice pun!) of trying to fill up with stuff that's going to soothe some inner angst, like beer and pb+ jam foldies, but obviously I just end up feeling more terrible.
So I think i got the message today: 💜THIS SHIT IS HARD, you're not always going to be a perfect version of yourself. 💙Stop measuring yourself against an unsustainable model of who you think you need to be (artist version of Gwyneth- who's yours?) 🖤 NO OUTTER THING is going to make you ok. Pb + J Is great for camping, but it's not going to make you feel like the universe has got your back. It's going to make you feel bloated. So just have one. I need to tattoo that to my hands.

My love for cactus is real. In college I remember a guy telling me my apartment reminded him of a greenhouse, which I took as a compliment. My love for plants is like the woman who collects shoes, except I collect cactus. 🌵

They are all little ponies, they makes me feel I'm so huge! 這裡全是小隻馬，顯得我好大隻啊！🐎🐴🐎
Who doesn’t in love with carousel? Especially the little young girl. They are always dreaming to having a little pony, I’m not one of them because I’m a big girl. These little ponies are way too small to me, therefore, I don’t dare to ride on them, or I’ll destroy the beautiful dream of young girls. Yeah, I’m meaning I’m afraid to destroy any pony toy of the carousel. But tell the truth, I love the vintage style of carousel so much! Those vintage ponies are such cuties for me!🌈
The happiest of birthdays to my best friend, travel buddy and fiancé! Traveling the world with you is my absolute favorite thing to do. You make me smile and laugh everyday, you take way too many pictures with me, you help me make my dreams come true and you are always working so hard for our future. I can't imagine having anyone else by my side. ❤️ 🌎 🎈

Since moving to the country, I've driven .. ALOT.
The first year had me on the road during winter sun rise and I kid you not, I cried like a baby in the car.
The same tears that well up in front of Ansel Adams anything.
Today on the road, after just a stupid day of traffic and no parking and dropped breakfast burritos, I saw the landscape before me.
And what I saw was not the the highway mechanically passing me by.
I saw shapes and horizon lines and washes of colors And shadow.
I saw a composition form in front of my eyes . Mundane, littered with gas stations and the millionth Tim's of the world.
But if you looked beyond that, you saw parallelograms and triangles and soft curves.
It made me forget my dropped burrito.
