Thanksgiving is a holiday for family reunion, I don't get to do that a lot. Back in October, my sister and I made a trip to our birth city: Columbus, Ohio. The first meal we had was at Katalina's, recommend by a friend and we were blown away by the creativity and tastiness of the food! Perfect brunch place in Fall to start the day :)
It’s not about the food you eat but the company you keep. And I’ve come to li #KIN these folks right here. Last year I spent #thanksgiving in #standingrock I learned so much from that experience that I am still #integrating into my life today. The thing #inspired most in me was to #connect to my #roots . I am #grateful for my family and all my #ancestors . I come from a long line of working class folk, to #pioneers and European #royalty . I have #leadership in my bones and I know my race has blood on its hands but my family and my generation is making #amends , removing the guilt and shame from generations passed with deep #compassion and #forgiveness , righting the wrongs of our #ancestors and those who have come before us. We are loving and accepting and learning and #evolving . I am proud of who I am and where I come from. I honor the privilege my #mother and #father , #GrandMothers and #Grandfathers worked to create. I so honor my family. I am grateful for the roots of #unconditional love they afford me. Even if I haven’t felt like I’ve always fit. These are the people I can always count on. Family is so very precious and so very difficult haha This is why we gather, this is why we celebrate. It has nothing to do with #Columbus or #Indians . But as someone born to this #land I honor the history of where I stand, I am still doing my best to #heal and raise awareness to what is surfacing. We must meet people where they are at and honor their process, you can only work together with those who don’t want to fight against. The healing starts within and it stretches out into the home, this is how we save the world. We make peace with our family. Anytime my family gathers to share a meal I am grateful. I am so full tonight for the time spent with these people I get to call #Family . I think we’re all just seeking that #connection that feeling of belonging. It’s what brings our life #purpose as we contribute to a whole, we are creatures of #community even as introverts. So with all the Thank You’s I’ve given today and every day. I follow it with YOU ARE WELCOME 🙏 ❤️🙏
- Columbus Reisreporter Graaf #Columbus#Reisreporter#photooftheday
This thanksgiving was definitely a tough one with no family or friends around. It was the first one since my grandpa has passed, and holidays have been different bc he was the glue that held what little family I had left together. But my gym was open and the weights were there. They will comfort/humble you when you need it most. As I worked out it helped me realize I was in fact still grateful I am alive, I’m able to workout, I have a healthy amazing daughter, I’m thankful for the relationships I’ve had that have taught me a lot. Resilience, empathy, consistency and patience are things I’m praying and trying to practice. So thank you to everyone that has impacted me and taught me things this year good or bad. Much love🙏🏻
I’ve been using this for two weeks. There is a significant positive change in my skin. I put on the Art Serum first. Then, follow it up with this. If my skin is very dry, I put the Art light moisturizer on top. Marvelous! #youngliving is much more than essential oils.
