Our New Year's Eve was not only STUNNING, she was an absolute sweetheart and we could not be happier for her! (PS - I was close to unfollowing you during your honeymoon because it was RIDICULOUSLY amazing and dreamy and I was SO jealous! xo) ***** Posted 1/17/2018
Jillian and her team at Beach Plum Event & Floral Design are the BEST. Going into our wedding, I had a vision, but had no real knowledge about the types of flowers and what was needed to bring that vision to life. Jillian was able to translate my ideas into the most beautiful flowers on our wedding day. People are still talking about my bridal bouquet! She transformed the reception room into an awe-inspiring display. Jillian is incredibly kind, detail-oriented, and responsive throughout the whole process. As a bride who didn't know much about flowers, she made me feel so confident that everything would be perfect on our big day. Jillian and her team are fantastic and I cannot thank them enough!! Goooood Morning, y'all....
DAY 3: Cardio Core ✅
Holy %$&!@&!!! 😅 I very rarely sweat this much!!! Major calorie burn this morning, for sure.
This workout, you don't need any weights or resistant bands, just the strength slides, water and a towel....and believe me, you will definitely need a towel. 👍
Today was a combination of HIIT Intervals and Core/Ab move. And you do not have to be an expert with this. I'm definitely not one and I struggled with many of the moves....but I did not give up. Even with my knee injury a year ago and still recovering from it,...I felt a little twinge here and there, but I pressed through and modified where and when needed, because I know it will be beneficial in improving my health and recovery.
I am learning as I go. For instance, as you know, I never ate a pre-workout meal till I started this program. Today's workout, I realized the importance of that pre-workout meal, which consisted of spinach, tomato, onion (1-green), garbanzo beans (1-red), slice of whole grain bread (1-yellow) with almond butter 🍽
Each day, I know I will get better and stronger and help others in the process. All you have to do is throw away the excuses and start.....and keep showing up. 💪👏
After a tough injury from last year and not being able to compete in the open, I am super excited to be able to compete this year and do my very best! Shoutout to @drcrossfitmomof4 for taking care of me through that ordeal and more importantly not killing me so I could register for this years open LOL , you’ll be glad to know I am feeling great and ready maybe not as ready and you and @samkrivit 😜 but I am ready! #comebackkid#2018crossfitopen#striveforgreatness#crossfit#dontgiveup#theroadtofdny

💢Let’s talk Accountability💢
So yesterday, I began an 80 Day journey. As always, I took my before pics, weighed in, and took my measurements. I have to admit...it was tough! 😕
I know I had let up on my nutrition over the holidays...over this past year in fact! I have also been avoiding the scale, mostly because I just didn’t want to see how far I’d fallen off track. 🙈
Well, yesterday I faced the music and took responsibility for my poor eating choices. It wasn’t that surprising, since all of my clothes were beginning to feel snug and uncomfortable & I even had to buy a bigger size of pants this past weekend. 🙄#keepingitreal .
I know I am a health & fitness coach, but that doesn’t mean that this journey is easy for me! I struggle with fitness and nutrition just like everyone else. I have slip-ups and setbacks too! .
But the thing that keeps me in it & that encourages me to keep showing up, is my fit fam!! ❤️
I have an amazing group of challengers and an amazing team of coaches that won’t let me quit! We all posted our before pics together yesterday! We are all in this journey TOGETHER!! And that is what makes the difference! The accountability of checking in daily, posting our sweaty selfies and meals, and being an example to others, helps me stick with this journey when it’s tough. .
I do my best when I am dialed into a program and held accountable by a team! And that is what I am doing for the next 80 days! It’s time to take back my control over my health! 💪🏽 .
Want to join me?? There is room for you in my online fit group! But you have to be ready to work. No quick fixes. No gimmicks. This real work, real food, and real results! It won’t be easy, but if you are truly looking for transformation (more than just physical), then this is for YOU!!
Drop an emoji that represents you in the comments to learn more! Let’s get take ourselves to the next level this year together! 💪🏽
Life has its way of testing you in all capacities. It loves to throw adversity your way and say "let's see how she comes back from this." Working hard to be successful is crucial, but real success is determined by how you handle setbacks.
I fell in love with the sport of crossfit 6 months ago. I became a different person physically and mentally. I told my coach that I don't want to just be an anybody, I want to be a somebody. I took my training to the next level and dedicated a lot of time, effort and commitment into my growth in this sport. It was exhausting some days and seemed grueling the next, but not for a second did I wish to be doing anything else. Recently I've been battling a nagging shoulder injury that has set me back some, but not down. Let's just say it's been a rollercoaster of a ride none the less as my injury has now taken a more prominent role in putting me on the sideline after some defeating news. "But I've worked so hard and have so much more to do I don't have time for this." I exclaimed with every ounce of frustration & sadness. This is such a huge part of my life I felt like someone ripped my heart out and stomped on it. To many you think to yourself "she just can't work out." To the people who get it understand the heart ache that's comes from telling me that I can't touch my beautiful pink barbell, I don't have to wake up at 5am to trek to the gym. I can't spend hours snatching trying to convince myself "I love it 😑." This is what I LOVE to do. It makes me feel alive.
Defeat was an obvious emotion, but after much reassurance from my coach and the people who keep me going I've learned my journey is just taking a detour. Mt mental toughness is getting its ultimate workout. I've come back from injuries before, but I was never In a sport that demanded so much of my body. 24 hours (and a little extension) I allowed myself to be sad, angry and upset. Now I understand the new challenge ahead. My focus needs to be better, stronger and I know it will be because of my dedication to working on my mental fitness as much as my physical fitness during this time. #comebackkid#strutyourstrong#comeftombehind
Run twelve - start of Week four - Tried some effort in this one for the first few km just let my legs 'go with it' and found that I am about where I thought I was fitness wise (which is a good thing). Ran 5.5km in total.
I am building slowly with the beginner marathon plan despite not being a novice runner, and I can feel that fitness will come in time with the gentle progression.
Cracked out the @marathontalk t-shirt and a @canterburynz base layer - layering up for the cold weather.
Had to include the post-run pic to show that I got the layering wrong, and in fact over did it :-)
