What do I do? In short, I make photos, specializing in births, families, and high school seniors.
But there's more to it than just snapping the button on my camera. I love getting to know my clients and creating images with them that tell a story. And not just any story, but theirs, one that can be held onto for many years and generations to come.
I've known this couple for most of my life. Bobbi used to decorate cakes with my mom, and I babysat for their kids as a teenager. We were neighbors when I was growing up. I was so excited when their daughter called me up saying she and her brothers wanted to surprise them for their 25th wedding anniversary with photos. If you know me at all, you know I think photos are the BEST gift for pretty much ANY occasion. I was in such awe over their "you-still-give-me-butterflies" love...25 years later and they seem to be more in love than ever.
I am not a fan of stuffy, posed shoots...I consider my sessions more like "adventures." We play, we have fun, we laugh...I just happen to have my camera to capture the precious moments between you and your most cherished loved ones. Thank you, Jenni, for allowing me the privilege of capturing some of the sweetest moments of you and your son. A session I will never forget!
Wow, this past month has been a whirlwind! From graduation pictures, to my own graduation, to our trip to Iceland! It all flew by way too quickly and I'm sad it had to end. However I couldn't be more excited to kickoff spring and summer photo sessions!! 🎊🎉
Sometimes I love going back to photos and re-editing them! Capturing photos during a session is essential to the photography process, but, it is not the whole 'picture.' (See what I did there?) Ha, but really, a lot of what makes a photo is the work done on the computer that no one ever sees. I love this part of my job because there is so much creativity that goes into editing images.
