Perfecting the recipe for these coconut pancakes. 🥞💁🏻
Grain free, egg free and sugar free make these babies a guilt-free addition to your weekend meal plans. 
Coconut pancake recipe:
1 banana (well mashed) 
1/3 cup coconut purée or coconut milk 
1/3 cup coconut flour 
1 tbsp coconut oil (I use MCT oil) 
1 tsp Apple Cider Vinegar 
Cinnamon to taste (or 1 drop #doterra cinnamon essential oil)
1 drop cardamom essential oil
Dash of Himalayan pink salt 
Mix all ingredients well and cook on medium heat in a non-toxic pan. 
Toppings: coconut yogurt (dairy-free), bananas and black berries. 
Enjoy on your next morning off (or evening) with a delicious cup of java. ☺️

And for those of you already suffering from type 2 diabetes, blueberries have  scientifically proven to improve blood sugar levels, lipids and insulin levels.  So when half a pint of blueberries costs $5 its not always an option to eat as much as I should. When I can take 2 chewable vitamins a day that are equivalent to 20 pints of blueberries I feel so happy knowing that I can go that extra distance to help prevent these diseases from affecting my body. Today is World Hunger Day, and Knorr and some associated brands have started an amazing initiative. For every meal shared with the hashtag #ShareTheMeal they will donate a meal to a hungry human being.

This is my meal for the day: a Green Salad with Arugula, Baby Peas, Green Beans, Celery, Green Pepper, Avocado, Green Olives and Raw Cashews. I dressed it with Olive Oil, Red Wine Vinegar,  Pink Salt, Black Pepper, Ground Coriander Seed and Chilli. 
I really love seeing major companies and corporations using their influence, reach and resources to help empower and support disadvantaged people. Keep it up, guys. I would love to see more initiatives like this.

The Invisible Vegan is a 90-minute doc that explores the problem of unhealthy dietary patterns in the African-American community, foregrounding the health and wellness possibilities enabled by plant-based vegan diets and lifestyle choices. The purpose of this film project is to contribute to vegan advocacy by showing how plant-based dietary practices are ethical, sustainable, and conducive to health and wellness. We recently gave this project a grant and are proud to supportKenny and Jasmine Leyva, the directors/ creators of this film.

Growing up I keep so much stuffed down and truly believe that lead me down a path of physical alignments (ie. health problems). Today; I feel it! I am so hangover. Not the typical hangover the one where I feel so raw and vunerable. 
But why would I share the deepest parts of me? Because within the work I do nutritionally and in womb coaching I expect the people to open up. To share with me so I can listen and give them guidance. Or.... to simply just be someone who will listen without judgement.

3 Ways to Becoming Friends with our 'Dark' Moments // 1. WRITE: Write what you have been stuffing down. Let it flow free without judgement of what comes out. Get it out! It can be scary to even recognize it is part of your journey. It can be filled with an emotion you don't like to feel. It can be nauseating to even think about speaking those words. I welcome you to take the space to write it down. It will feel so freeing. You can even take it a step further and burn the paper after.

2. LISTEN: When you are with someone next truly listen. Have all of your attention on them and connect. When we listen without trying to talk back or even node there is a space where a deep connection can flourish. Listen to them and you will learn all we want is more LOVE. More support. More comfort. There is so much that happens in our daily life and we can easily distract ourselves from truly connecting. It can even be as simple as looking into someones eyes when they are talking with you. 
3. STOP: Stop trying to be a victim of your own life. This is a BIG one. There is a magical way that our mind can go into complete victim mode and close up. Everything, I mean, EVERYTHING we go through isn't because you deserve it. We go through these deep moments because the universe is handing us an opportunity of growth and wisdom. Yes, it is dark and uncomfortable at the time. Allow space and time for the wisdom to surface. I truly believe we are never given anything we can't handle or move through. Nothing sounds good right now. Food is a chore for me. It's like fuuuuck I'm hungry, now to figure out my soul is craving... because if my body doesn't truly want it I find my mouth dries up or I get a gag reflex.

😖Wrong! The day will essentially follow how you start it, so start with a gas station sandwich and energy drink and your day will probably unfold like shit. However start your day right,  with healthy protein, fiber, and fat, and a Little gratitude,  and your day will probably unfold many times better,  smoother,  and energy filled.

Tempeh bacon.

5 oz tempeh (140 g)
1 tbsp soy sauce 
1 tbsp agave syrup
½ tsp red hot sauce (Add your liking of hot spices and seasoning to taste, I used paprika and pepper) 
Black pepper and salt to taste
Then put in skillet with a drop of oil and grill {you can bake too}) I put it on some whole wheat toast with avocado (I had two pieces)

Good morning. Today’s day one of getting back into treating my body in a way that’s sustainable and long term. I’m pretty much done healing and my parents are moving out in a month. So the next three months are building the foundations of how I want to be living once I’m finally “on my own”. I’m allowed to beginning working out a bit and continueing to eat lots of Whole Foods but also whatever I want. Sometimes I think it’s odd to just eat, I stopped posting mostly because I don’t care or think about food, not until I’m hungry really or if I need to plan but it’s in a healthy way now. It’s a little weird since I don’t remember being this way really. I didn’t write this morning or do yoga but I plan to sleep when I get back home from work and then do that when I wake up. Followed by working out arms probably.

Samantha Gladish over at @holisticwellnessfoodie shared a Turmeric Latte recipe so divine, I absolutely had to have a crack at it! 
I used about 200mls of Coconut Cream and added maybe 80-100mls of Water to thin it out. 
I brought it to a slow boil with 1/2 tbsp finely chopped Ginger (which I just chew up, but you can blend it if you like), 1tsp ground Cinnamon, 1tbsp Turmeric, 1 heaped tsp of Coconut oil and 1 tbsp of Pea Protein Powder (Samantha uses collagen protein). I loved the addition of the protein because it added such a creamy texture and made the latte much more satisfying. I feel as if it was a light breakfast now instead of a warm beverage. I also added a small pinch of Pink Salt, 2 big tsp of Raw Honey for my sweet tooth, and 2 tsp of Raw Cacao for a chocolately hint, some extra magnesium and an energy boost.

Samantha Gladish over at @holisticwellnessfoodie shared a Turmeric Latte recipe so divine, I absolutely had to have a crack at it! I used about 200mls of Coconut Cream and added maybe 80-100mls of Water to thin it out. I brought it to a slow boil with 1/2 tbsp finely chopped Ginger (which I just chew up, but you can blend it if you like), 1tsp ground Cinnamon, 1tbsp Turmeric, 1 heaped tsp of Coconut oil and 1 tbsp of Pea Protein Powder (Samantha uses collagen protein). I loved the addition of the protein because it added such a creamy texture and made the latte much more satisfying. I feel as if it was a light breakfast now instead of a warm beverage. I also added a small pinch of Pink Salt, 2 big tsp of Raw Honey for my sweet tooth, and 2 tsp of Raw Cacao for a chocolately hint, some extra magnesium and an energy boost. Good morning gentle eaters.  I’m noticing my brain this morning.  How she is constantly creating my reality - projecting thoughts and behaviours out into the world based on my lived experience.  Wired by experience, constantly readying us to repeat these experiences with the minimum amount of awareness necessary.  It’s an efficient energy-saving mechanism.  Today this looks like an impulse towards eating breakfast despite no indication from the belly that I’m ready for breakfast yet.  Mind is ready, belly is not ready.  What to do?  Remember that my brain is very kindly just preparing me to repeat old habits.  Remember that my belly is very kindly just living her truth.  Remember that brains may be habitual, but they are also deprogrammable and reprogrammable.  We can unlearn and then reoriente.  It takes awareness, spaciousness, patience.  Awareness is noticing, recognising your thoughts and behaviours in a non-judgemental way.  Spaciousness is being calm, settled and centred enough to hold these deeply habitual and often compulsive impulses towards certain thoughts and behaviours.  Patience with yourself as you rewire your brain on a moment-to-moment basis.  Each impulse is a golden opportunity to generate more awareness, more space, and more tenderness towards your own learning.  Good for you, habitual brain.  Getting me ready to repeat what I’ve done before.  Thank you sweetie.  But I’d really like to drink tea in bed this morning and wait for the readiness of my belly to announce she’s ready to eat.  So we’re going to wait awhile.  Peace in mind and belly, working together.
