#genetics play a role in #muscle building and #hypertrophy . What we may take away is the fact that we can't #compete at top level should we not have these genotypes. However #esteem is #controlled and let us not fall into learned helplessness. This past week with injured shoulders I have felt this way and realize I am better than that #positivevibes

Yesterday, @moveu_official and I went over some great ways to ACTIVELY stretch and mobilize those hamstrings and hip flexors. So, today we’ll show you some easy ways to start strengthening them! 🙌
Yes, we live in more of a seated world and it is common for the hip flexors to feel tight. But the reality is, they’re usually weak as well!
Think about it 🤔 if you’re not actively moving those legs into hip flexion while sitting, they’re not being worked! So it’s important to learn how to STRENGTHEN those hip flexors and control that end range of motion, especially if you want to increase your hamstring range of motion!
Think about crow pose, squats, leg raises, or anything else that requires bringing your legs/knees towards your chest. It’s not just hamstring flexibility, but actual hip flexor strength!
Andrew and I show it through holding end range hip flexion standing. Easy! And when you extend the leg you increase the lever arm and make even MORE #gainzzz 👊
Now, reviewing that beautiful hip extension everyone likes to do for the booty 🍑
When discussing pure hip extension, it comes from the #glutes and #hamstrings . Not the back extensors! I know the booty might look like it pops when looking in the mirror and throwing that leg in the air like Andrew’s beautiful kicks, but it COULD also be a bit detrimental to the spine. If you want the true booty #gainzzz ... just train the booty! Stay into the hip, not the low back! 🔥
