Strawberries and apples are very cheap heading into spring, so why not take advantage of the seasonal produce and whip up a batch of strawberry applesauce for your family to enjoy! Recipe on the blog www.mylilpouch.com.au
In continuation of my Moroccan post. We had some people around last night and these lovely dips were part of the starters selection. My now favourite hummus with dates (chickpeas, tahini, few soaked dates, lemon juice and usual salt and pepper to taste...yum) and Moroccan beetroot and mint dip in two textures smooth and coarse with some chilli seeds on top (cooked beets, yoghurt, mint, butter beans, salt, pepper) all served with easiest flat breads ever (yoghurt + self-raising flour). It is so easy, looks great and serves a lot of people. Perfect recipes for #cookingwithkids
Soph made us dessert-really gross mint chocolate chip yogurt with fresh strawberries, marshmallows that may have co-mingled with the shaving cream from the slime earlier and chocolate drizzle--which she drizzled all over the dishes, the tray and the kitchen counter
Perfect timing!! The kiddos and I completed some house cleaning, and the meal prep just as Jord was walking in the door from golf🙌
I am very excited to have that behind me for another week and now it's time to enjoy this beautiful weekend with the fam💜
This week I tried out 1 new recipe and the other 3 were requests from the fam. It is really nice to finally have a BIG collection of recipes to pull from that I know everyone in my family will enjoy.
Jord and I both agreed to stay away from soup/stews this week to hopefully have an enjoyable dinner with Kinger(our picky toddler) EVERY day this week. He assured me as he was helping that he LOVED everything and it all looked "delicious". I'm praying this is the case!🙏 This week we are having👇
1) Meat loaf (*New recipe*) https://www.wholesomeyum.com/recipes/low-carb-meatloaf-paleo-gluten-free/
2) Panang Curry Noodle Bowl (we all LOVE this dish!!) I just omitted the chicken from it this time as we chose ground beef as our meat of choice this week.
3) Taco Salad with Chili Lime Tortilla Strips
4) Tacos with Kinger's favourite hard taco shells and Jord and I are having corn tortillas.
A very fast, and basic meal prep. Everything is cut up and prepped so until next weekend I don't need to spend any time preparing meals in the kitchen BUT... we will be baking which we LOVE to do!! #mealprep#cookingwithkids#cooking#recipe#newrecipe#quickandeasymeals#pickytoddler#toddlerapproved#saturday#basic

Getting my planning on! Grade three farming and food is under wraps. I decided this was the obvious choice for our first block because so much will be going on here on our little farm in September. Winter veggies and garlic will be planted, garden will be harvested, chicks will be raised, goats will be bred, food will be preserved and fermented, herbs will be dried, salves will be made and we will be busy, busy, busy, in the kitchen. I hope he enjoys it all as much as I will! #homeschoolplanning
One of my earliest food memories is snapping green beans with my grandmother for Sunday dinner. It's amazing how food can shape and define experiences. With every class we hope to give each of our students that same opportunity whether during class or when they take their new knowledge back home to share with their own families.
#tomatotales week 22. Catching up. This is Jake trimming off remaining flowers and small tomatoes from his Speckled Roman. We leave very few fruit on. Over the years I've found this to make the biggest difference in flavour.
