We’d like to take a minute to introduce Tanya, the cafe's founder, whom many of you already know.
Tanya, who spent her early life in Zimbabwe before coming to the US explains, “I came to this country and always longed for a place of community and cafés are often the heartbeat of a community.” And so a seed was planted for the BakeHouse. “I searched hard for a community that felt right and found the city of Amesbury with its old mill charm but in need of some revitalization.” Despite knowing that many businesses have turned over in Amesbury, Tanya took a chance anyway. Though the BakeHouse has gone through some challenging bumps in the road, it has become a place that the community cherishes. “Never have I worked so hard,” Tanya states. “I had no idea what I was getting myself into not having started a business before. I’m still standing and often wonder how and why - but the café community we’ve built reminds me why everyday and confirms my choice in Amesbury.” “We feel grateful for what we have accomplished so far with the business and the community it has fostered. There are many aspects of the business where we see opportunities for growth, and I often feel in over my head, but we can’t give up now. We will continue to fight to have the BH thrive in this diverse hard working community and forge ahead.”

Incredibly honored to have my work projected as part of the #counterculture exhibit at the New York Public Library. 'You Say You Want A Revolution' will run until September 1st, and features historically significant items from the likes of Bob Dylan, Timothy Leary, Aldous Huxley, R. Crumb, Victor Moscoso, William S. Burroughs, Tom Wolfe, and Herman Hesse. My contribution can be viewed towards the back, projected onto the architecture in the center... Here's some video from the #nypl#afterhours public opening last Friday. #1960s#1970s#liquidlightshow
Vision Board 2018. My friend is coming over. We will Begin together. Then have lunch. I lit the Sage, got the incense going. Music ready to go. Lunch afterwards. What a beautiful blessed day OFF. #Sages#Fool#Tarot#friendship#counterculture#magic
If you missed @rey_day’s #CrateDiggin show from Saturday, go listen now on our MixCloud - featuring trashy garage rock from 60s girl band She, Bold and The Stooges; countercultural classics by Zappa, Hendrix and Janis; new sounds from King Gizzard; blues jams from Ry Cooder and Captain Beefheart; and a healthy dose of spaced out soul and world psych... and more!
🤙🏼✌🏼🎧 Pictured is Detroit all-female garage rock band The Pleasure Seekers, who feature on this show with their loose, raucous 1965 Hideout Records single, ‘What A Way To Die’; the band featured a 15 year old Suzi Quatro (far right) alongside two of her sisters, Patti and Arlene.

I was listening to a @life.church sermon this morning on “irrational generosity” & Nike 🐶 was probably one of the best examples I could think of ... ➡️ always loving & irrationally excited to see us even when we just leave for 1-2min and come back 😂💕. She doesn’t have 💴 , but gives everything she can with what she does have ...
Plus this example gives me an excuse to post my fur baby @runningwithnike ☺️
“If you are a follower of Jesus, I want to encourage you to be irrationally generous. You don’t have to be a Christian to be irrationally generous. I know a lot of non-Christians who are generous, they are great. But if you are a Christian you really should be irrationally generous.
Isaiah 32:8 NLT
But generous people plan to do what is generous, and they stand firm in their generosity.
Generous people plan to do what is generous. They stand firm in their generosity. Stingy people plan how they can get more. But a generous person does the same thing with giving.
When all of culture says “consume” a generous person stands firm and says “give.” Giving isn’t what we occasionally do, generous is who we are.” - @craiggroeschel
