Remember those cream savers hard candies? Yeah that's what this Berry Prickly Pear Frappaccino tastes like. I wouldn't mind a more tart flavor but that's my preference. It's not a bad drink at the end and very refreshing. #frappuccino#starbucks#drank#foodie#ct#summer @starbucks

There’s a lot of misconception as to the “why?” behind the necessity of #stretching .
It’s fairly safe to say that the high majority of us understand that stretching is “good” for you and that being more #flexible is never a bad thing however, our underlying reason on why we recommend stretching and make sure we work it into all of our fitness programs isn’t because every time we see someone capable of doing a split it brings a joyful tear to our eye,but rather the lack of flexibility or mobility often leads to the following:
Lack of growth 💪🏼. Can’t work a muscle you can’t reach. How are you going to activate your glutes or hamstrings during a squat or deadlift if your hip flexors are too tight, causing excessive lean or your pelvis to round too soon and your spine takes all the abuse?
Over usage 😱. If a muscle can’t be activated during an exercise, odds are good the body will try to recruit the next closest muscle (or skeletal structure) to compensate in it’s place. Causing similar muscles to be worked more often than they should and leading to fatigue and greater imbalances.
Poor body mechanics 🤕. When those poor body mechanics are tested during exercise, it can lead to injury rather quick since ligaments and our skeletal system is stressed incorrectly.
Poor posture 😩. Poor body movements lead to “permanent” alteration in our resting posture, which will only lead to greater movement restrictions over time and of course causing the body to “grow” asymmetrically or worse, be put in a higher risk for injury.
Please note, we’re not saying stretching is the be all end all, as there are many methods to gain proper range of motion (such as mobility work, Physical Therapy, MFR). We are saying however that the body needs continuous tuning as would a piece of machinery, allowing it to be put in the best possible position to succeed, so that it may yield the best results based on what you’re asking it to do. So in short, #getstretching
