Cucumbers are fast growing and prolific fruiting plants. If nutrition is lacking the window of opportunity to correct any imbalance is fleeting. That is why we monitor nutrient levels throughout the crop's cycle. Of particular consequence is Potassium (K) as it plays a key role in photosynthesis, early plant vigor and fruit size. Due to its highly mobile nature, K will translocate from older leaves to newer leaves and fruit. When too much K is lost from older leaves the pH of the sap will drop into a range that is inviting to fungal pathogens. By monitoring the K and the sap pH we can identify imbalance before the pant shows physically signs of stress and we can make the necessary adjustment to stay on track for high yielding, nutrient dense crops.
What are your favorite vegetables? In the last few years, I have branched out significantly! Have you? Below leave a comment of one vegetable that you haven't tried yet. I challenge you to try it in the next two weeks. Yum Yum Yum. #artichoke , #rudabega , #summersquash
Today’s quick lunch was an Asian inspired salad with red peppers, cabbage, cashews, cucumbers, lime, and a homemade peanut sauce. 👌😉it was delicious!
I spend an hour or two on the weekend prepping all my vegetables, fruits, and food for the week. This is the only way I’ve found to stay on track and eat nutritious food. Who wants to work all day and then come home and slave away in the kitchen?!? I was able to throw this salad together in 5 minutes with the prepped food I had on hand! Does anyone have any great prep tips??
