"I was working from a deeply held belief that all children deserve to see themselves in the books they read, and that everyone is poorer if we fail to give our children the chance to develop empathy, compassion, and wonder through stories that cross borders.” - Alice Curry, our founder, in today's Publishers Weekly! ✨

'The Color of Us' celebrating all the different beautiful colours we humans are. A wonderful picture book and message. Prompting a discussion with Belle about our mixed family and all the different but beautiful colours we are. ❤️🙌🏾
Until a month ago I'd never heard of Yassmin Abdel-Magied, even though earlier this year she apparently became "Australia's most publicly hated Muslim" (as she described herself) 🤔⠀⠀
But @yassmin_a is SO much more than that, and I'm thankful I had the opportunity to hear her speak last month at Creative Mornings (@melbourne_cm) 🙌🏻⠀⠀
The 26-year-old mechanical engineer / author / TV presenter / social advocate was engaging and thoughtful as she spoke about her experiences with choosing an empowering mindset, challenging stereotypes and facing public criticism 🔥⠀⠀
A few ideas Yassmin shared:⠀⠀
⭐️ Don’t underestimate the power of the stories that you tell yourself. Why would you tell yourself a story that takes away your own power?⠀⠀
⭐️ Being different can be positive and something that gives you strength. Different does not mean less.⠀⠀
⭐️ Define success for yourself by getting clear on whose opinion matters.⠀⠀
This brief summary really doesn't do her justice! ⚡️ Read the full story at JadeTjia.com/blog or via the link in my bio @jadetjia 👈🏻⠀⠀

Hey @Amazon and @jeffbezos: We are planning a move too. We chose #philadelphia because #phillydelivers . Some quick facts. 🌍From Philadelphia, #Europe is accessible in under six hours from our international airport – located just 15 minutes from #downtown .
🗽 You can reach 40 percent of the U.S. population within two hours; and our neighbors in #DC and #NewYork are less than 90 minutes away by train. 🚅 Philadelphia has centrally located sites with transit and #transportation infrastructure in place to support a #development as #transformative as Amazon’s HQ2.
🎨 A majority minority city, Philadelphia offers rich #culturaldiversity across its many neighborhoods, and provides a welcoming environment for all who call it home.
🏠 Our #costofliving is 20 percent lower than most other major #metro areas. 🏕Philadelphia’s #qualityoflife , combined with 102 local colleges and universities turning out 90,000 #graduates per year, has sparked the fastest-growing #millennial population among the 10 largest #cities in the US.
❤️ "Hats of Faith" such a beautifully put together board book! How various faiths display their identity in peaceful meaningful ways mA 💕 a must have for every family! Available online @ www.easterntoybox.ca or in shop @thedatepalm and @shopmodah 😊👌🏽
"The national food of Italy is Idli and Dosa!" A Grade 6 student in Mumbai joked during a Clap Talk, which lead to the reaction of Yasmin Giodarno @yas.giordy from Italy.
Yasmin is an environmentalist working with municipal schools in Mumbai, organising workshops about protecting our environment.
This fascinating Clap Talk with Yasmin covered a range of topics from food, transportation and love! | 📷: @riteshuttamchandani
Hola, I’m Lorenz and I will study for the next 5 months at UB, Universitat de Barcelona. I am glad that my home university, TUM School of Management, gives me this unique opportunity. As an internationally oriented university, TUM School of Management maintains partnerships with approximately 90 partner universities worldwide. In my opinion such a stay abroad is beneficial for the further development of every student. ⠀
Here you can enjoy the beautiful view over the sea, Barcelona and its environs from the Castle of Montjuïc. I definitely recommend you to visit it on your own, if you take a trip to Barcelona!⠀
🌨🌴Szakadó esőben is élveztük a sétát Malajziában.
GIVING YELLOW FLOWERS A SIGN OF INFIDELITY ⠀
I'm sure the majority of us ladies would be super happy if our 'significant other' brought us home some flowers (There would be a lot of 'awwww's). ⠀
BUT.....what if they were YELLOW....'Rui rui rui rui' (Murderous music sound)??? Would that BOTHER you??? Surely not; they are bright happy and gorgeous...WELL think again!! ⠀
Russian ladies think otherwise! In Russia yellow flowers are a sign of infidelity (UH OH!) instead of a smile and lot's of 'awww's' you'll wind up getting a dirty look and a kick to the privates! ⠀
