I woke up this morning and I was at 11.2% body fat so I’m still making good progress. Something important that I need to talk though is the best way to lose weight.
Generally when people talk about want to lose weight they want to lose fat. So what is the best way? Tracking calories? Hours of cardio? Lifting weights?
The answer is it depends on how far you have to go and where you are now. If you are like me and already at a low bf % you probably need all the things I listed. However, if your are 300lbs and you want to lose 50 lbs you’re probably going to need something different.
There is one thing that will stay consistent no matter what the goal is though. You will need to lift weights. Some people cringe at this idea, but you need this to make progress and yes you will have to build muscle.
Why do you need to build muscle you might ask? Well if you’re trying to lose weight you need to increase your resting metabolic rate. This is the calories you burn while you’re resting. Muscle is the only tissue in the body that can do this and to build muscle you need to lift or perform some kind of resistance training.
I know most people don’t like the idea of lifting because they don’t want to get too big, but I can assure you that won’t happen if that is not your goal. Some people don’t like gyms. They think people will make fun of them for being there, but realize that those people’s opinions don’t matter. You are there for you and to improve yourself. One more thing that keeps people from the gym is they don’t know where to start and if that is you then ask questions. You can ask me questions and I am happy to answer. If you have questions leave a comment or message me, but I would encourage people to ask through comments because someone else might have the same question or it could benefit someone else.#iam1stphorm
Putting volume at your roots what is #OClipping is a method of using clips at the root of your curls to gain height and volume. It adds lift and volume to heavier textures and can boost fine, limp curls. It can also help round out the shape depending how many rows you place. The 'O' refers to your arm creating an O around your head when placing the clips in your hair, it just makes it easier to visualize.
don’t forget to plopp !!!
❤️Thank you for the tips❤️
(Swipe left) Protein treatments are a great way to get your hair on track if it is thin, damaged, and dry even after shampooing and conditioning. Protein treatments help to fill in the gaps in your hair strands to allow for longer and stronger hair. However be careful because it can be potentially damaging as well especially if you do one when you do not need one. I recommend once a month unless you have severely damaged hair then once a week is okay for 1 month. 🍍

Hi curlies! So I was blown away by the volume I had with the Wave Maker and loved how bouncy my hair was...then I got home to brag to my girlfriend about how I thought this product was my new holy grail especially because glycerin was low in the ingredients list and it seemed to be protein free from what I could tell...and then she dropped a bomb on me saying that she thought my hair felt dry and looked it too, she then looked at the ingredients and pointed out that some of them might not be that great for the hair. So I researched it, something I failed to do in advance because I have really come to trust DevaCurl thinking they had our best interest in their products, however I was very disappointed to find that two of the ingredients were really bad...and drying for the hair. I would never throw shade at a company but I’m also not going to keep something like this from my followers because as consumers we have a right to know what we are putting on our hair and skin that can potentially be harmful. Companies should be held accountable for the ingredients they are using for their high priced products. We deserve quality @devacurl please remove the following ingredients from your Wave Maker 🙏🏼.
Propylene Glycol: a very controversial ingredient that in some sites has been said to be generally safe in food and cosmetics if it is used in small quantities. However is used in anti-freeze, break fluid and paint and is toxic in higher concentrations. it is known to break down proteins in the cellular structure (which is what hair and skin are made up of). The MSDS warns against skin contact with this ingredient stating that it can cause brain, liver and kidney abnormalities.
PEG45: classified to be toxic and harmful and a possible carcinogen. It is a petroleum ingredient that reduces natural moisture in skin and hair.
