Shout out for a park! This is Ford Park in Yamba.
So much happens from this spot.
The Yamba - Iluka Ferry leaves from the jetty out of shot to my right.
Tomorrow morning, and every Saturday, is Yamba Parkrun, a free 5km timed community event which has an every increasing number running each week.
This Sunday is the Yamba River Markets, which happen every 4th Sunday of the month. Local and regional food, craft, art and performing artists. Must do!
There is a great walking path, along the river with exercise stations, as well as the park itself, which is large enough to land a light aircraft on, and yet so close to the cafes.
And, I didn't even mention the stunning river views!
It was cold this morning, but I was awake and ready to venture out and join the Yamba Cycling Group on the regular town loop.
When I say it was cold, it really was cold for Yamba.
I had my winter gloves, ear warmers, outer jacket and, for the first time this year, I wore leg warmers.
The cold air still hurt my nose and my feet and fingers were still cold.
So, here is the question: Has Yamba made me soft?
BTW, it was 12C this morning!
Keen to see the world by bike? We sat down with Dan & Amy of @eurovelo_couple to get some insight into their tour of Europe, and how it was their concoction of Nutella pasta that got them through. 👉🏼 Link in bio for full article 🚲#AlpacaStories
People often talk about visiting a place and how friendly the locals were.
The great thing about Bali is this is 100% accurate!
This man was on a break from working in his rice field, and was curious about the camera. He gesticulated to see some photos, then again for me to take his picture. He looked at it, and the smile that broke out on his face was huge, I needed a second camera to capture it!
It's the moments like these that make life awesome.
Love the buzz around Turner's Beach at sunset when there is a bit of surf around!
Grommets still in the water since after school, locals rushing down after work to catch a couple, and visitors wandering around, just taking it all in.
Add to that 25C blue skies and you really have a great spot to finish the day! ---
Sidenote: Don't normally take this bike out: it's an Electra Townie Sport. Only mentioning it because their profile says: @electra_bicycle "Unhurry up. Life's too short not to go on bike rides if you like being outside and smiling." I think that's quite good - I do spend a lot of time riding and smiling!
