I #LOVE this picture. My sister @katwilliams23 posted it this week in memory of our grandmother who passed a year ago. She always took us to pick the #daffodils I even have one inked on my arm based on these memories. That’s me in the middle, my cousin on the left, sister on the right 😇✌️ #flowerchild#flowerpower#family
I wish to hide under my hoodie
yet I broke under reality.
There was nowhere to hide
as I was trapped on the inside

Have you thought about offering a unique & original painting for Christmas?
"Le champ de jonquilles/The Daffodils Field", oil on canvas, 50cm x 65cm, 2016.
This piece is made with oil paints and combines two techniques, knife painting and dilution. The first technique allows to apply thicker layers of paint, notably to draw the daffodils’ corollas, giving them more depth and underlying the intricacies and subtle lace of their trumpet-like heads. On the other hand, the use of very diluted paint -- applied with various tools (brushes, papers, fingers…)-- enables to create areas with a more translucent quality and to play with the « dripping effect » induced by dilution, offering outlines and patterns that distantly remind those obtained with watercolors.
There is a little hill facing the old barn I use as my painting atelier and from as early as end of February up to late April, this little knob of earth topped by a gigantic sky is the realm of wild daffodils. At first a few of them, here and there, because winter is still harsh around, snowy often. And then they began to multiply to finally cover up the entire space, a sunny and all tousled « daffod’hill », a sea of unrivalled bright yellows but in which every single flower keeps a clear and very visible personnality, each trumpet adding its tune to the overall melody of nature announcing the coming of spring.
