Someone once told me, “well if you feel uncomfortable put your shirt back on.” It’s not necessarily me that is uncomfortable but the the thought in the back of mind of how society sees women in the fitness world and how I “don’t look the part”. I refuse to live in this state of mind and be uncomfortable all the time just because someone might not see me for what I can do but for the jiggling of my stomach. This is my real body, not edited or a still picture made to look better. My body changes every day and sometimes my stomach really shows that but When I’m working out I focus on what I am doing and if my stomach moves and doesn’t look the way I want at this very moment I know that every workout, meal and positive action will get me closer to my personal goals of being my best self. 
Always fight to be better but love yourself throughout...it’s time to change the situation.

Started out today thinking I was boxing but ended up in the middle of a public courtyard with a bunch of my friends doing yoga and enjoying the amazing day. If you can accomplish a goal or be happy with the food choices you make, you are determined. And if you can look at yourself and start loving your body through this journey, that is priceless. Stop comparing what everyone else is doing and look inside and focus on your goals. This is for you and only you know the reason why so start fighting for what YOU want.

I get asked all of these questions pretty often. The answer is, I wouldn’t be who I am without fitness and a healthy lifestyle. Honest truth, I would be a very depressed and negative person if I couldn’t workout. There’s something about remembering how hard a movement used to be or how weak I was to now how strong I am.  It’s unreal the sense of true accomplishment and control I have over my body now. It’s like a never ending journey of surprises and figuring out what my body and me are truly capable of. Trust me all the stress you carry just goes away when you workout and start loving your body. We all tend to overlook it but stretching is the best way to prevent injury, keeps you loose and allows you to get better in your strength training. The more flexibility you have the easier things become and the stronger you are doing your movements. Take 5 minutes of each day to get it in! My favorite stretches are straddles on the wall, pike stretch and splits on the wall. You won’t see immediate change in your body. You won’t see an immediate new lifestyle change. But give it time and you can change your life in every way.

Stop comparing and start embracing. I hate when people continually live in the mindset of well they do it so can I... that’s not how this works. Your body is your body...not theirs. 
With getting my blood work done and figuring out the underlying issue to a few things in my body I have been doing everything I can and was told to do to correct it. You can look great on the outside or even love your body but without your health you have nothing. I am already feeling back to normal and stronger but I had to adapt to my body changing and take control and fight for what I want... to be the most fit, most healthy and the best version of my self I can be.

I am so grateful for this life. Every day is a new opportunity, a new chance to be your best self and a time to learn something new. I think most people’s problem with a healthy lifestyle derives from not truly believing they can reach their goals. I honestly stopped thinking about the goal and just put the work in and stayed consistent and the weight came off, my mentality changed and I realized I could do this. So stop waiting to be ready and just start working. You CAN have the body and life you want.

Aimee is an amazing mother, and wife but she had proven to be an athlete in my eyes. With coming to Dani D. Fitness for the last year and training in all types of variety of movement and eating clean she has stayed determined and has proven to be one of my hardest working clients. Perspective...Over this journey so much has happened and so much has changed. Right now i am truly focusing on my health and feeling better so that i can be physically, spiritually and mentally healthy and 100% for my clients. As i am doing that and trying to be better every day there are still some days i think wow i should be further on this journey and start to get frustrated (because I’m human and can’t help it) and then i look at the picture on my left. 
I was uncomfortable, embarrassed and couldn’t really enjoy anything at the time in my life where i was suppose to be having fun and just wear what i want and not have so much self doubt...I knew i was stronger than that person and i knew i could be better than what i was settling for and be the women on the right. 
If you want the real healthy lifestyle or you just want something bad enough you’ll fight for it. Take it from someone who won’t stop supporting you in your journey and will keep fighting in mine. So start fighting for what you want, stop waiting to live your life and enjoy feeling Free in your body. You can do it.

Run a half marathon, get really sore and then have leg day... Makes sense right? Lol i was feeling tired and weak today so my movement plan incorporated some back squats. I knew that any time i work with the bar i feel amazing afterwards. i feel confident in posting this because my body did really hurt the whole race, i didn’t train for this, was bloated from not eating my normal diet, my calves were tight, my feet always give me problems but it gave me time to really understand what my body needs moving forward and know that even through all of that had good form and made it through another one without injury, I’m so thankful for that.

The box you’ve put yourself in or what society has... last night i threw this on didn’t think twice and felt great i didn’t feel like a “big girl” i didn’t feel like maybe my stomach shouldn’t be showing and i just lived. It’s about having a real healthy lifestyle and last night i did that and now today, time to run for an amazing cause. I will be running for those who can’t but also to show that any “body” is meant to move and do amazing things! Don’t let your head and others ever stop you from doing what you know you were meant to do.
