Paleowolf never ceases to amaze. I've gotten around to listening to the latest Paleowolf albums: Prehistoric Meditations and Megafauna Rituals. I'm very impressed, as both are beyond fantastic.
Prehistoric Meditations, as the name suggests, is more focused on relaxation and meditation. It's music is more slow and droning -- almost 'sleep-like'. It's an internal journey, made to explore the inner, primordial self.
Megafauna Rituals is a powerful opus to the paleolithic ancestors of today's animals. The great beasts, such as the Sabretooth, Aurochs and Direwolf are revered and worshipped as gods, through the ritualistic chants and dark, shamanistic percussion of this album. Megafauna Rituals places us up close and personal with these former rulers of the world. It is a remarkable piece of musical art that celebrates man, beast and nature.
More footage from last week’s gig at @thehideawaybar. I use light sensitive square wave oscillators to generate some drones, which end up very much dependent on the venue illumination. In this case it all evolved to sound very sci-fi, playing out well with the mesmerising visuals #twilightzone
Yesterday was a good night: met with friends, had some drinks and laughs, and played some drones in a cool Sydney venue like @thehideawaybar alongside local experimental legends. Can't get better than this 👍🏻
