Say hello to our bespoke solid walnut serving tray. A favourite with one of our restaurant clients @mulberrygarden but that's not to say it wouldn't look great at your next dinner party, the glasses would be full of course 😁 #party
Egunon!

There are foods that have the infinite ability to remember memories. They are associated with moments of happiness, culinary pleasure, a person dear to our hearts. For my part, it had been years since I had not eaten zucchini flowers ... And yet, it is one of the things I like most to taste. So when we went to @rap_epicerie and saw these little wonders in the fridge I could not resist. Morgan did not keep a good memory of it, so I had the intention of eating the dozen myself ! I decide to prepare them as my mom did for me, simply spent in flour, a beaten egg and hop in hot oil. The fox loved it, I plunged back into childhood and the burrow was animated by Italian music, good red wine and sweet courgette flower donuts. Life... .
"It was a beautiful bright autumn day, with air like cider and a sky so blue you could drown in it."-Diana Gabaldon
The countdown to the official first day of Autumn, September 22nd begins now! Books, poetry, nutmeg and cloves wafting through the home. The warmth of wood burning fires and the sound of laughter from family gathering. The color of the leaves and the smell of rain. @littlemamagoose has us waiting with baited breath, ready to surrender to the season. Wild woodland mushrooms, leeks and kale come together in golden pastry to provide nourishment, warmth and immense comfort. Just two more days and we can gallantly ride into the depth of this stunning time. What are you most looking forward to this Autumn!? Xoxo - Michelle ✨
My cheese addiction started as a very small child, strange I know and the stinkier the better even then. 🤔
We were lucky enough to have @cavistons on our doorstep ( which didn't help the addiction). When my lovely mother used to bring me on a trip into town, we always visited an equally fab little cheese shop in Powerscourt Townhouse, where I choose cheese, as my version of #dessert .
I wonder if there is a cure to this addiction 🧀🧀🧀. Judging by the 30 odd years it has lasted so far I am guessing not!!

Super cute, little mini wood and slate platters. A special #bespoke order for a lovely customer in #germany .
There is beauty in two natural materials coming together, it really shows #nature at it's finest.
Sourdough with mashed avocado, tomatoes and basil. Sprinkled with black salt and pepper.
There is loveliness in stillness. Extraordinary power in simplicity. Elegance that exists within flavors. Sourdough crackers with the tangy creaminess of a local goat cheese, the first of the season green pears with their unique texture and intoxicating sweetness, garnished with the fresh flavor of mint and the fairy wildflowers that grow from it. @lovemylittlekitchen always seems to capture the most exquisite pieces of time. Taking our minds to a magical land filled with endless beauty and rapture. The stories these bites could hold, the conversations that have been privy too, the story of each individual ingredient. That is the most fascinating part of food. Each element has its own unique story, begging to be told. Whose hands grew the mint? How many kisses and cuddles did the goats get who produced that cheese? How many seasons have those pear trees endured and survived? Oh be still our hearts. The connection between it all. Do you have a good story that is begging to be told? Message us we would love to talk to you about being part of our publication! Xoxo - Michelle ✨
Cream filled Konafa/Kanafeh - Do you know what I love most about Instagram? It’s the people I come across on a daily basis, the connections I make, the community and the wonderful and never ending inspiration posted on this platform every single day. Today I made Konafa for the very first time and my lovely friend Morteza of @cravingsstockholm (who I actually met on Instagram) is directly responsible for this. It’s crazy delicious and I know, mine doesn’t look authentic, because well, for many reasons, lol (please don’t tell me off 😂) BUT, i am so very happy that I gave this delicious dessert a try. I did forget a couple of ingredients; Pistachios to serve and Cardamom in the syrup, but it was delicious none the less. If you love rich and indulgent desserts like I do, this one will be right up your alley, or street, whichever. Just take my word for it. I’ve never eaten Konafa before, but I do know that the recipe differs a little, depending what part of the middle east you are from. I’ll for sure be making this again as well as the other version, and i’ll be sure to remember the Pistachios and Cardamom. I hope you’ve all had a wonderful Tuesday. Kay xxx
I admit having slept on the couch, after an excellent cod dinner, and also having searched through the pantry for chocolate ... the result is that my evening coffee is consumed without sugar in any form, but at least in the company of lovely roses ... #ofsimplethings
A couple of weeks ago I was tagged by the extremely lovely @thevibrantkitchen, thank you Michelle, to share 10 facts about myself. I'm just a going to jump straight in.. 1. It has taken me this long to do this post (which was so close to not being a face shot) because I actually do not like to have my photo taken. I mean, I like to have photos of me obviously for keepsakes, but I am not comfortable in front of the camera and no amount of filters will make me feel comfortable.
2. I think the lamest jokes are the best. My favourite, which gets me every time is, 'I once went to a seafood disco and pulled a muscle'. 😂
3. I am probably THE most messiest cook/baker ever. Literally, I could make pancakes and all the worktop space would be filled.
4. I love exploring abandoned places. I love the curiosity that it arises. Which is also why I love antiques and vintage things. I enjoy thinking about the people that have used them before and their stories.
5. I am quite an emotional person. I will cry when I'm sad, happy, angry. I'm just a big cryer.
6. I love nature and my favourite place to be is in the forest. If it was physically possible, I would live inside a tree.
7. Walking soothes me. If I'm stressed or my mind is on overload, I just go for a walk.
8. My favourite flowers are wild flowers and peonies but my husband always buys me lillies.
9. I have never been out of the country. I don't even own a passport. But I would love to visit Italy one day.
10. I have quite the collection of 'dried' ahem! (dead) flowers around my house. I seem to form an attachment. You should have seen me with our Christmas tree last year. It was the most beautiful tree and I just wanted to keep it forever.
I'm only going to tag @saltandsuch @mabelandmole @rodica_godlewski @abatchofbliss but feel free to do your own, I'd love to know more about you . Hope you're having a terrific Tuesday.
End of summer, begining of fall. Grapes are harvested and wine is made. Mornings and late afternoons are chiller even if by mid day I still want to sit outside to have lunch. P.S. Next recipe will have an autumnal feeling and mark the transition to a new season in the kitchen.
Today we got to hang out with one of our workshop groups, we talked about the weather, the new school term, the beginning of autumn and the past.
We are connected to the good and bad aspects of our pasts, those experiences helped us to form the beliefs and judgements that we carry with us today. Some of those beliefs are good and they work in our benefit, but some of the beliefs aren't so good for us.
We carry pain over upsets and experiences because that's how we are taught it all works. Be hurt, be sad, get on with things, carry pain with you. But that approach is like drinking poison.
You are more than the sum of your experiences, you are more than you know.
Cinnamon and sesame marble cake to help you on your journey 😊
What false beliefs do you wish you could let go of?
Fig and Pear salad - with Haloumi, Red Onions, Radishes, Pea shoots and Rocket. I also made a Maple & Mustard dressing (Not pictured) to go with it. My mom and I had this for breakfast this morning 😍. People I feel would really appreciate this salad; My partner in Christmas crimes, Casey aka @pinch_dash_glug , My wifey for life, Michelle aka @thevibrantkitchen (minus the cheese, of course) and my sister from another mister, Anoushka aka @apsnapthat aaannnd my sweet new bestie Morteza aka @cravingsstockholm ....duhhh. Um....yea, so happy Monday. Here’s to a wonderfully productive week! Kay xxx
