When I said a girl could dream about @flickthewick having extra November boxes apparently the candle gods saw fit to answer. 😁 Like two days after I posted about the October Box and missing the November Box an announcement came down the pipeline that there were extra boxes. I’ll admit I haven’t yet read Strange the Dreamer OR Daughter of Smoke and Bone. I have StD and the others are on the way. But that won’t stop me from enjoying all the delicious smelling candles.
Included in this months box:
🕯The Scholar (Lazlo) 4oz: Sweet Apple, Pear, Nectarine, Honey, and Vanilla. ✨
🕯The Godspawn (Sarai) 2oz: Sweet Musk enhanced by unique woodsy notes—This is defiantly my favorite. I’m a sucker for musk. 😍😁
🕯The Artist (Karou) 2oz: Rich Chocolate paired with freshly brewed espresso. ✨
🕯The Seraph (Akiva) 2oz: Clean and fresh scent of white suede and rosemary. ✨

#readingspellnov17 | Day 22 | Orcs - Monsters
I am so tired. We went on a little joyride yesterday, because of pancakes, and we ended up riding for 30 km. Or rather, my friend did and I just sat on the back of her bike trying not to fall off because my butt was numb from sitting so long. LOL. But we got pancakes and churro ice cream sandwiches, so it was worth it. Till we had to brave the traffic on our return to the city.
Today is about monsters and while most of us just assume that all monsters are bad and evil and terrible, I must admit that my favourite monsters are the ones in the "Daughter of Smoke & Bone" series by Laini Taylor. Issa, Brimstone and Twiga struck a chord with me when I read the first book. Now, I don't know what happens in the second and third (because I don't have them yet), but I'm pretty sure my feelings for them aren't going to change.
QOTD: Favourite kind of monsters?
Hello Lovelies🌸 I hope everybody is having a great tuesday😊.
The last couple of days I've been very productive in terms of my christmas wishlist, which currently consists only of books. (apparently some family members have a few issues with that, but the heart wants what the heart wants right?!😜).
Today I want to talk a little bit about the Daughter of Smoke and Bone series by Laini Taylor.
I read the series last year around christmas and really liked it. It wasn't love but I did enjoy these books. As time went by somehow my mind again and again went back to the series and one day it just hit me 'Anna, this series was so epic. You really weren't able to see that and appreciate them the way they deserve.'
This was honestly such a weird experience for me, because usually it always has been the other way around: I read a book, thought it was soo amazing but after a while I wasn't that hyped anymore, still liked it but the love died a bit.
Have you ever had a similar experience with a book?
Enjoy your day booklovers❤️
“Once upon a time, an angel and a devil fell in love.
It did not end well.” ― Laini Taylor, Daughter of Smoke & Bone 🍁
You know, I’m sorry that I did not have these books with me when I went to Prague 😭
That’s one more reason why I have to visit it again! Third time’s a charm aye?
Anyways I am so in love with this editon of DoSaB 😍 R U not?

~ Eretz, the land of the angels and the devils in the realm of DoSaB (Daughter of Shadow and Bone series) ~
I'm stuck in this (current) reading... 😑
..not because of any slump, but because I've already know (err.. read) how's this series going to end which unfortunately not the kind of ending that I like. (I have a bad habit to read the ending first before starting from the beginning 😅)
Ah well, we'll see 'bout that later. I might change my opinion once I've read the books completely ☆
This is my currently official report on the reading sensei @bibliobubudi 😆❤
Laporan selesai, kembali ke tempat ! 👮
These books are so beautiful, inside and out. I had read the first one a few years ago but I never continued on. This year before reading Strange the Dreamer, I reread Daughter of Smoke and Bone and continued with the rest of them and I am so glad I did. They're so magical and enthralling. And having read these books right before reading Strange the Dreamer, there were certain things I noticed that give me some hope.
I re-read "Daughter of Smoke and Bone" before reading "Night of Cake and Puppets." The events of Cake and Puppets take place off-stage while other things (so many things!) are happening in Smoke and Bone.
First: Daughter of Smoke and Bone is one of my all-time favorite books, and it was every bit as much fun the second time through. Also, even though I already knew everything that was going to happen, and the author straight up tells you on page ONE that "it does not end well," it still made me have all the feelings and need all of the tissues. It's rare to find something so original in its worldbuilding and so lush in its writing that still manages to move at breakneck pace. I read all 400 pages in just three sittings. Unputdownable. Inexplicable. Amazing. I hate the cover, but I'll forgive that because OH MY GOD THIS BOOK. A million stars out of five. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟💯 .
Second: Night of Cake and Puppets is lovely. A novella about kissing, with pretty illustrations done by the author's husband. Fun, sweet, magical. Smoke and Bone is a cup of dark tea in a silver cup, a plume of steam rising up from it like smoke from a thurible. Cake and Puppets is a generous piece of Sachertorte, eaten in a warm cafe during a snowstorm, you and the person you love sharing a single teaspoon. These books go together like tea and cake. I recommend consuming them alongside each other! 4 out of 5 stars for Cake and Puppets, because I'm really more of a tea-and-coffee drinker than a cake person. 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Next up is re-reading the second book in the Smoke and Bone trilogy! So excited!
I was tagged by @bookaholic.05 to do the #bookcourship .Thanks for tagging me❤❤
