White marble Abbasi Mosque looks like a pearl in the wilderness of Cholistan Desert. It is located adjacent to the historical Derawar Fort and was built by the Nawab of Bahawalpur in 1844. It is an exact small replica of Moti Mosque located in Red Fort, Delhi. The mosque is still in a good shape and has been well maintained by the people of Derawar, unlike the Derawar Fort that is in shambles now.
Karachi is known by many titles and nicknames by the locals one of those is “Ghareebon ki maa” (the mother of the poor). Every city block has a charity organisation or a soup kitchen, I guess it’s just something ingrained into our fabric to give and keep giving to the less fortunate no questions asked. Pictured over here is a man sleeping inside the historic Kutchi Memon mosque. It’s pretty normal to see someone or the other sleeping inside a mosque over here no one will even flinch. That’s the beauty of this city in one way or the other unknowingly it tries to takes care of everyone. #whpwindows
