This little one goes in for surgery tomorrow morning. We're like nervous parents trying to let her enjoy her last day before weeks of recovery. She seems to be enjoying this sunlit window perch plenty enough though. 💛
Truth? This is completely how I feel this beautiful Lenten day. A sinus headache has gotten the best of me & deeply encouraged this body of mine to rest. *
Matthias on the other hand? Well... he's just my spirit toddler who, like his Mama, finds comfort anywhere near his Papa.
I woke up this morning feeling condemnation and full of frustration. My last workout was Sunday, when my intended plan was Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday every week. However, I have no reason to feel this condemnation. Everyone is allowed a sick day and this flu is definitely knocking me down. There is always tomorrow, and today, I take a day of rest to recuperate in avoiding overdoing it.
Golden milk and bed. Happy spring. I don't like taking sick days but my body insists on it. The lesson I'm learning is to be more consistent in adding herbs into my everyday life. I'm listening universe. .
Golden milk: 1 cup almond milk, 1/2tsp turmeric powder, 1/2tsp ginger powder, dash of black pepper, dash of cinnamon, and honey to taste.
You have complete control over your body. You can make the choice to eat that Big Mac...or that salad, or choose to lay in bed all day or go on a walk and inhale the fresh air.
I know it's not always easy to stay healthy and fit. You have temptations right and left. You can't just say you are going to be healthier, you have to make a PLAN, set GOALS!
Tomorrow is the start of the new week and I encourage you to think of one thing you are going to change for the better, whether that be fitness, nutrition or something in a completely different realm, you are doing this to better yourself! We always have room to improve ourselves!
Write your goal on a sticky note and put it where you will see it EVERYDAY. And when the sticky note fails, tell your friends so they can hold you accountable and remind you why you started. We all have the strength to set and accomplish goals, you just need to let go of the excuses and start RIGHT NOW! Not next week

It's been a long few weeks away from the kids so it's nice to just be home and with them today. They decided to make dinner (eggs, pan fried hot dogs and toast) and though I'm proud they are self sufficient I feel kinda bad that they have had to be so self sufficient with how busy we are all the time. I know good traits to have but also sad knowing it's out of necessity because mom and dad have a crazy life. Grateful to be home and just be today...
