There are currently over THREE TIMES the target population of Wild Horses and Burros nationwide. The Appropriate Management Level is 27,000. Current population is between 80,000-85,000 Mustangs and Burros. Yesterday, the Wild Horse and Burro Advisory Board made some tough but necessary decisions regarding the Wild Horse and Burro Program that involves phasing out long-term holding facilities over the next three years. Which very unfortunately means many horses and burros would be euthanized if not adopted. So that being said... Adopt! Adopt! Adopt! Make your next horse a mustang.
One of the highlights of my visit home was seeing Star! Glad we didn’t bring her down to the NC heat, she is loving life and living like a queen on my parent’s farm. Also ensures I have a horse to ride when I visit 😁❤️😍 #blmmustang#mustangstar#formerwildhorse#demandthebrand
We have a new project at the Farm that we are very excited about! With TIP still suspended for the time being we have some extra time on our hands. This amazing couple reached out to us about a 17 year old gelding they received through the Internet Adoption, Doc Brown. They have not been able to get hands on him yet but refused to give up on the beautiful Living Legend. It’s rare to find adopters who not only are willing to adopt an animal this age but to invest so much of themselves into a sale authority horse. We are excited to show all of our followers that whether the mustang is 2 or 20, they are trainable and will make amazing companions if you will put the time and work into learning THEIR language, not forcing them to learn yours. Less than two hours and Doc Brown not only allowed me to approach him without bolting I was able to touch him as well. The feeling you get when you know that you are the first person to put a hand on one of our Living Legends truly inspires me to put everything I can into making them lifelong companions for their adopters! #adoptdontshop#funnyfarmmustangs#adoptalivinglegend#mustang#wildhorse#day1#demandthebrand
