The deadlift😍 One of the best posterior chain exercises you can perform... and yet one that’s often done incorrectly!
When it comes to deadlifts, there’s a world of possibilities. Barbell, dumbbell, cable, single leg, sumo, conventional, straight leg etc!
These right here are straight leg deadlifts - focusing primarily on glutes and hammies.
How to perform ☑️Place your feet directly under the bar a comfortable distance apart- usually a little under hip width. ☑️Drop your butt down, grab onto the bar on the outside of your legs- tight- hold on like you are about to “twist” the bar towards your body. ☑️Pack your lats down and your rear delts back- keep them in this position the entire time.
☑️Tuck your chin, keep your core tight and pull up (and back depending on the weight) , keeping a neutral spine, until you reach a neutral position at the top.
☑️STOP at neutral, your hips shouldn’t be tilted forward and your low back should not be arched- this does not “build your butt” it puts unnecessary strain on the low back.
☑️Keeping a light bend in the knees and your shoulders tucked back, lower until you feel a good stretch in your hamstrings (you do not need to go to the floor) and repeat!

This is a video of how my dad makes noodles from scratch. He’s a true master of the dough. From kneading to rolling and hand cutting, he does it all. Oh and he also happened to make the beef stew sauce that we topped the noodles with too. I’m lucky to be able to enjoy this bowl of comfort on a regular basis. #🍜
