Here is my studio and my favorite materials: a messy watercolor palette that I rarely clean and from which I'm usually running out of blues and teals. Multiple other palettes scattered about for paint mixing. Blotter paper covering the table I rescued from an old classroom. My favorite liner brush for details and lettering. All my favorite things right in front of the window with the best light in the house. What is your favorite place to create? 📷: @emilyfrances

Just some words of wisdom to start your week. 😉 It's hard to see the bright side when you're dealing with a failure but it's definitely true that you learn more from the trials and tribulations of life than the events that run smoothly. Plus failures make you appreciate the successes much more. Don't you think? What's a recent failure that you've learned from? #wordsofwisdom
When you run from doing the one thing in your business that you know you should be doing a long time ago, and it catches up on you and you have no other choice but to do it.
I've been running from video content for oh so long, but not anymore. I realized that I've just gotta suck it in and put on a smile and put my best step going forward. And with the tips gained from @ashley_prgirl 5 Days of Live training, I know I'll be fine. 😊☺ What's one thing you've been running from that you know you should be doing?
Have you visited my blog lately? I've been sharing several brand design concepts that I think you're going to love! .
Start with this one, an idea for an interior designer: Marchetta. This brand design strikes the perfect balance between timeless taste and contemporary style—just like the “Transitional” interior design movement. .
Harkening back to antique family heraldry, this modern spin on a “crest” incorporates symbols of hospitality and welcome. Together, these motifs create a contemporary crest that perfectly suits Marchetta: modern yet timeless. 🏡 🛋 .
Link in bio to see this one and plenty more! Plus, learn more about working together to develop your own custom brand design. #moodboardmonday#sarahannbrands .
Don't worry, I've also been a busy little bee with several custom wedding invitation suites. 🐝 With two projects at the printer right now, it won't be long before they're ready to share!
So funny story. I texted Jess at o’dark thirty this morning, telling her I missed her and was thinking about her because I was doing just that, missing her and thinking about her. You know what I didn’t realize? It is her birthday. So I’m just going to go ahead and say it’s because I could FEEL that today was the day to celebrate kind, faithful Jess. But isn’t every day a day to celebrate sisters like her? Don’t forget to tell your people you love them (especially on their birthdays). Love you very much, sweet friend! So thankful for the ways in which you live out the gospel clearly and beautifully. Happy birthday!
Oh Monday, you had me today. After last week at market and Homecoming over the weekend, I needed One. More. Day. Then you brought on a little cooler weather. It actually felt like fall y’all! 🍁 Jazzy and I got a little work done and took an afternoon nap 😴. Bring on Tuesday. We’re ready for ya!
Rainbow maker, color me home. 🎶 Any other Polly fans out there? 🌈 Inspired by @elisejoy and @one_of_one_goods , I bought 36 different colors of @rileyblakedesigns fabric to make this rainbow quilt for my baby last year. It's probably my most favorite quilt ever.
I use to have a beautiful routine. It wasn’t perfect but it was consistent and I had time set aside for studying, time set aside for lettering, time set aside to workout & time set aside to just rest. I need to get back to that.
I'm usually all about bright saturated color, but sometimes it's nice to counteract a busy pattern with something more muted. This one was part of Coderella's design system, which I developed a few years ago.
This sale is so much fun! “You can resist the seductions of grandiosity, blame, and shame. You can support other people in their creative efforts, acknowledging the truth that there’s plenty of room for everyone. You can measure your worth by your dedication to your path, not by your successes or failures. You can battle your demons (through therapy, recovery, prayer, or humility) instead of battling your gifts—in part by realizing that your demons were never the ones doing the work, anyhow. You can believe that you are neither a slave to inspiration nor its master, but something far more interesting—its partner—and that the two of you are working together toward something intriguing and worthwhile. You can live a long life, making and doing really cool things the entire time. You might earn a living with your pursuits or you might not, but you can recognize that this is not really the point. And at the end of your days, you can thank creativity for having blessed you with a charmed, interesting, passionate existence.”

Hi! I'm Amy. I'm a product photographer and educator teaching handmade sellers how to DIY their own awesome product photos. Why? Because A) I love handmade stuff - like, LOVE. and B) Because education is empowerment. It's that whole "give a man a fish, feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and feed him for a lifetime" thing. I BELIEVE in that stuff. ⠀
So, I have a Facebook group where I teach this stuff. And in the group I ask my people what they're struggling with the most. With that info, I created a kick ass free 5 day challenge to help them meet their struggles head on and conquer them - and I could not be more stoked.⠀
From Oct. 23rd - Oct. 27th, we'll be taking on image size and quality, lighting, styling, and editing. You know, the formula for awesome product photos that make your customers become buyers. Awesome, right? If you're a handmade seller, you need to get in on this. For real. It's gonna be killer.⠀

Sometimes it can be tricky to visualize the size of our signs, so here's a guide! This is our 18" North Carolina cut out, featuring the map of downtown Charlotte.
North Carolina is a loooong and skinny state, so this one is 18" long and 7" tall. Other signs vary in dimensions, but just know that all of signs are measured by either 12", 18" or 24" on the longest side. Shop all of our signs with the link in our profile!
We design with style. We design with a smile.

We are SO excited for our next guest expert, @maggiegiele, who will be joining us live in our Fb group on Thursday, October 19 at 1pm EST.
We all know that design businesses heavily rely on referrals. Maggie will be sharing how we can take our marketing beyond referrals, to grow our businesses even stronger. Even if you don't run your own business, marketing skills go hand-in-hand with design!
Here's a little more about Maggie:
Maggie is an award-winning business and marketing strategist, helping fiercely dedicated business owners slay their strategies and build sustainable, scalable businesses.
Think of her as your wand-waving, spell-casting partner-in-crime to help you carve a path through the magical forest, where Dreamy Clients, business growth, and freedom await.
"My darling love. You have loved me with a truth that is both gentle and mighty." If I kept reading past this beautiful opening line I would most definitely burst into tears! This dark purple eye pleaser is everything moody and magical! ✨🔮 Dark colors are hard to pull off, but when they are done right, it's pure goodness. I absolutely love this suite I designed for a styled shoot at @sevenspringsva ! This elopement themed shoot may be an oldy, but it's a goody none the less! The other vendors were such a pleasure to work with and reminiscing on the romantic details brings back #allthefeels | photo credit to the wonderful @nickimetcalfphotography & @maggierichard

Here's another peek at a Merry Patterns Christmas card project! This scene is all a-glow with holiday magic. This card is stepped up with some stitched elements around the border of the middle square, but you could easily simplify it and use the stitched framelits to get a similar effect. A boxwood wreath cut in two makes a great dimensional element alongside some red ribbon. The background on red is stamped with the sentiment to make custom designer paper, which is an easy thing to do for crafters at all levels.
You have a #FacebookGroup , right? (We don't like to make assumptions, but this is basically a given!) Anyone who is trying to build their visibility NEEDS a group, even more so than a fan page, because it allows you to authentically connect with an audience. These people are not strangers. They chose to be there and YOU chose to accept them. Talk to them like a friend!
Themed days like #TransformationTuesday are great at building a more intimate feeling within your group. No one likes a one-trick pony, so please, balance business with spontaneity. 😉🐴
I ate tooamy cider donuts this weekend! Matt and I went on the hunt for some fall flavors , the first spot we tried the donuts were plain (no cimamon no sugar) so we had to find another orchard to get our donut on! I had a total sugar crash last night but it was totally worth it!
#rosecoloredglasses I'm an eternal optimist, guys.
No matter how hard things can seem, I always try and believe we can (and *will*) do better.
It takes a lot of gumption to believe in yourself as an artist. I applaud each and every artist brave enough, each day, to put themselves out there. #makersgonnamake

Teaser alert! We thought you might like to take a sneak peek at some of the fabulous artwork that will be up for auction in our upcoming charity art exhibition Art with Heart.⠀
We're being super sneaky and only revealing some of this artwork titled; 'Tex Wolf' by the very talented @enjoy_it_kid we can’t thank him enough for his generous support of our event.⠀
This year we are very excited to be raising funds for Tomorrow Man supported through auspice by Gotcha4Life.⠀
Currently in Australia suicide is the largest killer of men aged 15 – 44, (6 Australian men every day, 1 man every 3 hours). ⠀
The goal of Tomorrow Man is to work toward changing this through programs that benefit men’s/boys mental health.⠀
Art with Heart is an invite only event however we will have the entire exhibition up on our Facebook page from 6pm on Wednesday 18 October 2017 so you can see this artwork in its entirety and put a bid in to help us raise some much needed funds for the wonderful team at Tomorrow Man.⠀

Taking a moment to celebrate the little things 😊 I turned 24 in September (almost one whole month ago) and I decided to let this year be focused on being real and vulnerable. I recognize I haven’t been investing as much time into my business/social media as normal and I promise I will eventually explain why, but for now know that it is okay to take a step back and take a breather to celebrate even the small moments! #joyinthejourney#ultimatethirdwheel
Monday afternoon means grabbing an extra cup of coffee and powering through the last things on our to do lists. Oh, and don’t talk to us about how it’s already the middle of October. We don’t get it either! 😫🤷🏻♀️
