An afternoon spent cross training today on the bike 🚴
I'm taking a week off running to try and let my shin sort itself out. I'm still doing 1 mile a day, very slowly, as I want to keep my routine of running everyday. I find if I don't run everyday, my legs just forget how to run! My main problem is inflammation on the inside of my shin, so a very slow mile each day shouldn't effect it healing, I'd say. Cycling doesn't hurt at all as obviously it's low impact, so as it wasn't raining I thought I may aswell get in some cross training. Maintains fitness and builds up some leg strength! Also keeps me from gaining any weight, as every KG counts. Gotta stay lean!💪 Although it was very windy, and I have a rubbish bike, I kind of enjoyed it. Think I'll do some more. Just depends how long it takes my shin to get better. Hopefully won't be too long as I've had 4 days off now, will have to just keep taking it day by day. Still over 3 weeks until I start marathon training so I've got time! Just have to be sensible.
I was stopped briefly by a farmer who asked me if I could avoid driving the truck too close to their wildflower field margins and I was very happy to oblige. The wildflowers look just as good as they did last year and it's so nice to meet people who are more than happy to make small changes like these to do their bit for wildlife 🌼 #wildflowers#fieldmargins#farming#devon
A walk to clear my mind. Yesterday I was interviewed for the job I have done for the past 2 years. I made it to the final 2 and I was not selected. I am devastated as I truly loved my job. Now I need to regroup, at the moment I'm not sure how. I have wonderful friends who have been so kind over the past 24 hours. #sadday#walk#pickmyselfup#devon
