Hi, meet my girl Coconut!! Coconut is a Pakistani Bull terriër of 4,5 years old. It's quite rare to find such a breed as a stray dog. So I assume she's been someone's pet at one point. She arrived at the shelter in 2015 with a shattered back leg, probably due to a traffic accident. The vet amputated her leg and since then she's been doing fine. She is one of the fastest runners of the whole pack! Often I don't even notice her missing leg :) Because she is such a special breed, I'm desperate to finding her a new home. Preferably with people who have experience with power breeds, or at least who are willing to educate and train themselves on this topic. Most Bull terriërs need more excersise than average. They're build for short explosive movement, more than for long constant walks. They are very strong and muscular dogs with just as strong minds. Therefor they need confident and calm owners, who know how to work with these dogs.
The last 3 weeks Coconut completely stole my heart! She is such a love, so friendly and always smiling. She is a very energetic girl and so grateful for the extra walks I've been giving her. She can be a bit insecure which she sometimes abreacts on one of the more submissive dogs in her pack. But when she'll get more exercise and the proper training, I'm absolutely sure this behaviour will change. She is very smart and she picked up on my training really quickly! I don't know how she will respond to other non canine pets, though. If not grown up with them, Bull terriërs can sometimes cause a problem with other animals. Luckily she's is still very young, not dominant at all and a quick learner. Therefor I am convinced she is able to learn many new things and develop a much calmer energy. She's just such a sweet girl..! So therefore, to every single one of you, this shoutout for help! Please, let's try to find Coconut a new home! The whole adoption process will take time, but I'm here to help and will continue to do so when I'm back home. So if you know someone who is interested in adopting a dog from India and has experience with this type of dogs, or if you're interested yourself, please contact me!! Thank you!🙏
On this crisp Tuesday morning I was able to capture quite the slice of life here in Dharamshala. I woke up to find hundreds of Tibetan people walking down the street, I curiously followed them into the temple that is home to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and quietly observed as they went through their morning prayers and rituals. After, I was treated to what you see in the video above! This part of India (and maybe the rest of it, I’ll find out soon) is filled with cattle, dogs, and monkeys roaming the streets at whim. This little standoff and witnessing the religious practices before it made for quite the morning in northern India! - BF #StLawrenceU#Dharamshala#Tibet#FreeTibet
Who won't want a view like that first thing in the morning? This was taken when we were camping at Triund back in 2016. It was still a less populated site and well, we contributed to it's current situation of being overflown with people.
It's funny how most people who argue against trek tourism don't realise a simple observation. You're not in the traffic, you are the traffic.
So, while people will visit places as they're discovered and while that number will increase every year, we can all try and be responsible and keep the places as they were before we set foot there.
You cannot ask people to not go somewhere, despite your good intentions.
Don't let the festivities end with diwali, join us for a trip to Bir Billing; to indulge in a weekend well balanced of peaceful idleness and crazy adrenaline.😊
