I'm pretty strict with what I eat when I'm low, so when eating sultanas to treat a low I usually share them with my colleague to not eat too much. He's happy, I'm happy. He even provides me with new hypo food 👌, it's a perfect collaboration if you ask me 😁
İNSÜLİN VE KAMP⛺️ İlk fotolar Makedonya Ohrid'in Arnavutluk'a yakın bir kamp alanından.
I had such a great time at my third #DiabetesUnconference this weekend! Each time I'm reminded just how important peer to peer support is. Plus, Kari and I put our #Dexcom sensors in our arms for the first time, with the help of about ten friends and a large dose of courage! 💪🏽
🍴💕🍾...celebrating the renovation of our friends' 1800s carriage house with "breakfast in the barn"...which included the most amazing vegan pancakes (with walnuts, sunflower seeds, blueberries, apple, banana, and most importantly: crispy edges!) & vegan sausage...and an emergency site change due to (yet another) cannula bleed 🙄😭 I enjoyed the pancakes anyway. Take that, #crankpanc ! 🍎🍌☕️
ok so according to the internet one of these bad boys (172g) has 40g carb in it - FORTY?! that's 6 units on my ratio. that seems ridiculous?! anyway I haven't hypoed so I'm guessing they really are that full of sugar? 🍌🍌
👉Many people ask me with my health and fitness program how it affects my blood sugars and overall diabetes? ⭐️ It has overall reduced my insulin needs my 30% (which will help in weight loss as well)🙌 ⭐️I still eat carbs, but more modified and fruit, but the portions I have reduces the spikes I would always have after eating those foods🍓 ⭐️My daily superfood shake I bolus 10 min before and my sensor is a flat line 99% of the time and that is with adding fruit to it as well ✌️ ⭐️My blood pressure is at an all time low 👏 ⭐️ HDL is its highest and my LDL and Total Cholesterol is at an all time low 👊 ⭐️ With having celiac disease the plan is 99% gluten free anyway, so super easy to follow
Sure diabetes isn't easy...it's hard to have days that are a flat line across the whole board, but it can happen. I need a plan that allows me some carbs, fruit, wine 🍷and some treats 🍫. I love how do able it is and more importantly sustainable!
Could this be beneficial for ya? If so, SWEET because we kick off our next monthly accountability group in 2️⃣ days!!! I will have your back and support you every step of the way! 😘

Two night ago for the first time since being diagnosed I ended up in DKA! It all started with a kink in my insulin pump cannula and a high blood sugar! Even though I felt fine I decided to check my blood ketones! I'm glad I did because I had 4.6 blood ketones. Anything above 3 you should seek emergency care for! I decided to give it two hours see if it came down. My blood sugar did but my ketones went up! So a trip to A&E was in order, I felt fine just sad to have to leave my baby girl at home. I went in was triage and sent to assessment bay who told me I would go to majors! Rather than being wheeled into majors I was wheeled into Resus (cue alarm bells)...at this point I still felt fine! I was not yet in DKA but heading that way! They pushed fluids but unfortunately an hour later I went into DKA! 20 minutes later I vomited all over myself and @tracyrbrook hand! 😂I wasn't in DKA for that long maybe 4 - 6 hours, apart from being sick once I felt fine. I ended up spending a night and day (up until 6ish) away from my 7 week old baby girl and James which was the worse thing (I cried in the hospital loo about this a lot). In that time I had three cannulas put in, 6 blood gases (which are super painful) and four failed attempts at putting in cannulas/taking blood! I've struggled with it today but can finally say I have no ketones (just a high blood sugar) I'm hoping they don't come back because apparently you can rebound back into DKA. They think I went into DKA because of hormone changes after having a baby (which is rare apparently but happens) Diabetes is shit! It's something myself and many other people I know have to battle with on a daily basis. It doesn't go away, it doesn't give you a break, every meal is a constant reminder of it! Right now I completely detest having type one because I feel like it has won at the moment. However 11 years without needing to go into hospital for diabetes is good going I think! Hopefully I'll never have to again! And side note the staff that treated me in hospital were 👌🏼#type1diabetes#diabetesawareness#diabetesproblems#dka#insulinpump#emergency#chronicillness#humanpincushion#bloodgas#cannula#7weeksold#hospital
”Constantly tired. Never rested, no energy and sometimes sad. The tiredness is constantly present for many no matter how well they manage their bloodsugar” -> Sounds about right 😅 Not even my 20min run helped giving me energy today 🏃🏼😴 I believe it’s important to share the “bad stuff” about the disease as well as showing that even if you have it you can do whatever you want to do, I just think you have to fight a little harder than the person next to you with a functioning pancreas 😉👊🏻 #diabetes#alltomdiabetes#diabetesförbundet#t1d#run#tired#diabetessucks#diabetesproblems#diabetesawareness
THANK YOU....💚 For all the amazing feedback on my post yesterday for a new blender!

Today I got a flu shot, probably should’ve gotten one 2 weeks go seeing as working with children and getting sick tend to go hand in hand.
Why 2 weeks ago? Flu shots work by boosting your adaptive immunity. Adaptive immunity is made up of antibodies and B/T lymphocytes. Antibodies bind to surfaces blocking the spread of infection while T cells recognize and kill infected cells. The memory part though is what’s most important and why vaccines work.
After the infection or injection a small number of B and T cells stick around with a memory of the virus allowing them to attack faster and smarter the next time around.
T cell activity apparently peaks 8 days post infection and antibody production goes steadily up about 5 days post infection.
In other words you don’t have to wait til it’s officially “flu season”. Apart from getting a needle I changed my site. First time in a long time using a silhouette site. I’m eager to see how scarring goes. I’ve been using Mios lately and finding way less scarring. Anyone else find the same?
