Yesterday i made this quick, easy and delicious butternut squash salad with red onions, a mix of seeds and some pomegranate. We had it on crackers with a delicious light cheese spread from @thelaughingcow_uk. Get the recipe for this enjoyable ‘good for you’ treat via the link in my bio. :)

Road trip planning for success. I mentioned it in my last post but I wanted to dive into it a little further. I've been pushing my fluids all morning and had one egg this morning. Doesn't sounds like much, but let me explain. I know me and my habits. When I go places and have to stop for gas or get hungry, my first instinct is to grab a box of dots or something quick liked a slice of pizza. When I drive I like to snack. So here I am, 7:30 I n the morning and I've already had 60 oz of water. I'll take another 30 in my travel cup and 64 oz on reserve for my rehydrate (the flavor helps me keep drinking) and my protein powder. I have one more egg and a protein shake for the drive there and a serving of shelled pistachios (it's had to crack 'em as I drive) and 2 oz beef jerky for the drive home. I probably won't eat it all but if I do, I'm okay with it because it's accounted for in my food log and I know how many macros I have left for lunch (since dinner is logged too). It's easier to stick to a plan when you have one. **I ended coming back with the pistachios, about 1 oz beef jerky and less than 16 oz of the 94 oz of water I took with! I did stop and buy some gum which helped as well! .
Treadmill tabata to get in my LISS today. I was going to start week 4 legs and cardio today but I just wasn't feeling it and tabata forces me to push myself more (and I need to do LISS too)! I felt good afterwards but today was by far the hardest day to get up and going this week. It's supposed to be beautiful out Saturday here in Iowa (50s!) so I will be doing a longer run Saturday to enjoy it. This "winter" has been abnormal for nice weather. We're usually bunkered down in the house with snow on the ground late November or early December. I'm really hoping we get some snow for Christmas!
Today is going to be spent mostly sitting in the car to go visit a friend. Came home from the gym and made hard boiled eggs for the drive (will also take a protein shake, jerky, and nuts) and made my spaghetti squash lasagna so it's ready to go for dinner when I get home! Now to make good decisions for lunch!
Does anyone else struggle to take rest days? I know my body needs them and the day after one I usually see a pounds or two drop on the scale but mentally, I feel like it's a wasted day, especially when I have plenty of time to workout on those days. I feel like I have to talk myself into a rest day and I dread them! .
Workout 2017: 248
Quick @adrienelouise yoga video focusing on stretching after a workout to cool down from my gym session! I think I’m most proud of my ability to stand on one leg for so long. I had injuries on both my ankles (one fractured growth plate and one grade 3 sprain) so balance has been hard for me ever since then, I’m glad I am getting better! Maybe one day I will be able to do fancy balancing yoga poses but for now I’m celebrating the little victory of standing on one foot at a time 😄🧘🏼♀️🤸🏼♀️
Some motivation 🤗

Full disclosure: I ate sugar yesterday. A lot of sugar. I had cheesecake and some chocolate chip cookies for my niece's birthday yesterday. I don't necessarily regret it, but to hit my #dietbet goals I plan to be strictly #keto until Christmas.
Bought the ingredients for the bacon-feta salad with lemon dressing and grilled chicken skewers at the grocery store :) 7 net carbs!
Completed my latest Dietbet and despite all that was against me I CRUSHED IT!!!! Despite being so busy with work. Despite the cold weather. Despite getting freaking PNEUMONIA I kept my goals on my mind and did everything I could to finish out strong and I DID IT!!!!! When I saw myself drop below 220 I almost cried tears of joy but instead I danced around in my apartment haha
I haven't been under 220 for about 6-7 years so this is A HUGE milestone for me.
Thank you Dietbet, Bikini Body Guide, and Couch25K for pushing me along.
I can't wait to make more milestones and crush more goals.
Believe in yourself. No excuses. 👊💪🥗🏋️ #dietbet#bbg#bbgcommunity#c25k#fitness#fit#running#healthylifestyle#weightlossgoals#weightlossjourney
Sometimes reality just slaps you in the face. 4 years ago on the left I was just a few weeks out from learning how to re-walk entirely. I packed on the pounds from the steroids and antibiotics during bed rest and had to have life-threatening surgery to save me after I had broken my leg. I re-learned how to lift slowly and it became a passion.. however, I’m also obsessed with carbs 😂 learning to balance them out has been a huge challenge. But my learning curve of seeing what makes my body happiest between heavy carbs, keto, carb cycling ... that’s where it gets fun. It feels good to be back on the healthy track and knowing what my body likes for fuel 🔥 #dietbet#eatright#trackyourmacros#liftheavy
So excited today!! I get on my scale most mornings because I have the Fitbit scale that syncs wirelessly so I can have easy tracking. And today was my lowest weight in over 5 years!!! 160! I dipped in the past to 166 or 164 when I made efforts to lose weight but would always bounce back to 180. #keto has been so easy for me to maintain these past 3 months now that I have more experience (started in June but didn’t know what I was doing and kept going “on” or “off”) now I’m feeling so calm about it all and the scale keeps going down slowly but surely!! This is from my dietbet transformer i started in September. I’m about halfway to my ideal weight. #down20lbs#20lbstogo I’m BMI 25.5 and healthy BMI is under 25 so I’m very close!!! 2018 is going to be my year!!! #weightlossjourney#reachingmygoals#paleo#lazyketo#weighinwednesday#onedaylate#dietbet
I eat a salad at some point almost every day. The extra volume helps keep me on track. This one is just lettuce, spinach, pepitas, red pepper and Bolthouse Farms ranch dressing. #foodjournal#fooddiary#Dietbet#healthylunch
Throwing it back to this past March.. This is incredibly hard for me to post because I absolutely hated where I let myself get to. I hate hate this picture but it is reality.
I didn’t even realize how big I was. I have always been a self conscious person but this picture takes the cake.
I’m proud of the journey I started and lifestyle changes I made. I have my ups and downs but I will never go back to this state I was in. I was unhappy, unhealthy, unmotivated, and looked terrible!
The second picture was this morning.. I had to dig this shirt out a box of old tee’s that I had buried away. I’m not busting out of that shirt anymore lol
Thankful to be able to share my journey with y’all.
