Spring is officially on it's way with the deinstall of the last holiday display for the year. Was reunited with my old visual assistant from Anthro and a dearer friend. It was so motivating being around another creative business woman and amazing sharer of knowledge. Thanks @theranjon for helping with the dirty work. And thanks @smoothdowntown for letting us play in your space.

Google photos is that jam. Looking back I spotted this floorset I did in spring 2014 for Urban Outfitters? Getting ready for summer. The best was that I had management that allowed me to go off the books a tiny bit. It was nice to have their faith. .what should've happened in the windows we we're supposed to cut strips of this paper they sent us and spray adhesive it onto the windows. YEAH RIGHT! I had forsight that was not going to stay up longer than an hour. So I proposed doing some white graphic shapes going vertical in the window in clusters. Also I got to experiment with different shapes I could get with scrap wood to make"beads" for swagging in the window. .
The shapes in fabric are dyed crappy cotton fabric from joanns. Like I'm talking $1.99/yard crappiest of crap fabric. We dyed them with diluted latex paint and I was SUPPOSED to get a more even dye job. But space is limited in a display room so I had to scrunch the fabric a bit on the clothesline. And I got this amazing texture from it! Like water ripples. Definitely a moment of those rare "ifucked up.....erm. just kidding?"! And building this cart fixture was fun when I had to use my chin and knees and feet to build it solo. That's the thing. Most of us display artists get limited manpower help so it forces us to be resourceful and innovative. Sometimes you have to build something to build something. .
Also a cool thing from that display was this custom printed tape we got from home office. I wish I snagged of few of those extras. Those we're amazing. This was a fun one I remember.
