I bought the second Dark Sun appendix for the same reason I bought the third Ravenloft appendix: I was sure I could use it to surprise and bewilder my players in much the same way the Mystara appendix did. Just like Ravenloft, I completely failed to integrate any of these monsters into my games. ¶ Dark Sun is tough. Much of its appeal comes from its brilliant, aesthetically driven campaign setting – one part dark fantasy, one part Mad Max movie – driven largely by the artwork of Baxa and Brom. The things that make it so aesthetically appealing, though, are exactly what makes it so hard to pilfer it for a homebrew game: the monsters especially are tied so specifically to the harsh environments of Athas. ¶ It’s a gorgeous book, though, if you’re a Baxa fan (I…sort of am, as I explained last week, particularly in full color). There’s some devious critters in here, too. Maybe someday I’ll figure out a way to use them… ¶ #DnD#DungeonsAndDragons#ADnD#DandD#AdvancedDungeonsAndDragons#TSR#RPG#TabletopRPG#roleplayinggame#Brom#TomBaxa#DarkSun#MadMax

Yay, @fenomkimonos #BlackFriday sale, with a #BambooGi ! I've been waiting a long time for my favourite gi company to come out with a non-cotton gi, very excited! Xmas is sorted. 😃🎁🎅🎁😃 ___________________________________________
Also, loving the #HipHopEvolution#documentary on @Netflix, covering my favourite period, 70s through to early 80s. The line between disco, funk and #hiphop was blurred back then, meaning it is waaaaay more to my taste than the gangsta #rap that came later.
This series only gets to that less appealing style in the final episode (and it's still interesting, despite my dislike of gangsta rap). The graphics are really cool too. Awesome! 👍
Great #BJJDungeonTrotters session yesterday with new #DM @athleticresults. Super pleased that we now have a regular Thursday slot: hopefully we can get Antony to a @bjjglobetrotters camp in future, maybe Leuven? 😉
“Theo didn’t sleep well anymore. He feared that nothingness and loss of self that came with sleep. After being trapped as a statue for so long, the very idea of that dark blankness sat awkwardly at the back of his mind and the pit of his stomach. What if he never woke up next time?” Another D&D colour pallet picture. This Time it’s Theo!
