I have carried this everyday in my wallet since I was a teenager. I was on a plane flying from Chicago and right in front of me was @cedtheentertainer I was just a kid and I went up to him, I had a seat like directly behind him. He signed this and was the nicest guy ever. I was maybe 12-13 or so. I’m now 27 and this “To Brandon, Do great things -Cedric the E” has been with me everywhere I’ve gone. I hope you see this Cedric. It’s been a motivator for me more than half of my life. #cedrictheentertainer#motivation#comedy#autograph#thankyou#inspiration#love#dogreatthings
Sometimes you gotta give yourself a nudge and just start. 😉
What’s worked for me has been the “give it a whirl and see what happens!” approach. That whirl has led to accomplishments, lessons, and experiences that wouldn’t have happened if I waited until the perfect time. ✨
I’m not saying be reckless or careless and drop everything and make a drastic change. It can be a small step or a slight pivot from what you’ve been doing. Build on that. 👌🏼 Whatever it is you’ve been wanting to do - workout, try a new class/career, travel, etc...give it a whirl with where you are now and see where it takes you! Guarantee it will take you to better places than standing still and waiting! 💕
Happy Mondayyyy! Starting your week with #meditation 🧘🏻♀️ can give you more direction 🔀 in life.
Whether you take 20 min or 1 min, start where you are. Breathe deep. Relax. Picture all your stress melting away.
You got this.
Captain America. A small guy who wanted to do great things. He did them. Along the way he did the most heroic things a person can do in my opinion. He put everyone else above himself, even at the cost of his life. He would take his own life if it meant saving one other, no matter who it was. That's the prime example, and an example only few people find in themselves to do. #betheexample#herosareallaroundus#sacrafice#beunselfish#dogreatthings
WITH GOD, ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE. Wrap your faith and heart around this truth this morning. Let the seeds God is placing in your life take root so they can grow. Expect God’s favor to help you break out of the ruts and rise to new heights. It can happen without a bank loan or having the right education. It can happen in spite of your past and what the critics are telling you.
You don’t have to be bound by the barriers of the past. Start making room in your thinking for what God has in store for you. Expect to excel in whatever you do. Allow that seed to take root. Get beyond the barriers of the past and expect God to do great things in your life.
I will never sugarcoat it - my line of business is just plain HARD sometimes. It definitely isn’t for everyone - there are daily “not interested but thanks for asking”, crickets, and times that your business just isn’t where you want it to be. These past few weeks have been just that for me, feeling like I’m spinning my wheels a bit, running into obstacles with every turn.
But my hubs told me something so simply amazing the other day that lifted me up completely. He told me, “You can’t be kickass every single day. Some days you just have to be great.” Isn’t that the truth? My colleagues and I are doing hard things - making waves is never easy, disrupting an entire $62 billion industry doing “business as usual” takes a lot of grit. It’s like a muscle - the more you use it, the more developed it becomes.
And even though these past few weeks haven’t been a walk down the yellow brick road, I see the bigger picture. I see that for every “thanks but no thanks”, there are thousands of families I will be able to reach and educate. Thousands of safer alternatives, thousands of meaningful conversations. And THOSE conversations are what propel me to keep leading my team and keep working so hard so that EVERYONE has access to cleaner ingredients.
So even if I’m not feeling particularly kickass at the moment, I DO realize that what we are doing pretty freaking great. And to be able to go to bed at night proud of my work; well, I will take greatness any day over regret, missed opportunities, or unfulfilled potential.
Go out and do great things. The world needs you.
