It's a Monday. New Episode out today. Get your headphones 🎧 out and join today's discussion🎙🔊🎤 It's everywhere these days, cases and cases of Abuse in Children. While child abuse has long been known to impact people from all demographics, research indicates over 75% of child maltreatment comes from a child’s own parents and close relatives. This stat is too close to home and very shocking. Child abuse ranges from neglect, domestic violence, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, sexual exploitation, online abuse and so on and so forth. This is very alarming and heart breaking to see young innocent children being damaged by people who are meant to care for them. This has to stop!
In today's episode Bimbola and Jo discuss the types of child abuse and warning signs with our guest speaker Solicitor Julie Alatishe who has been practising child protection law over the last 10years. Julie owns her own legal firm and can be reached on www.julatconsultancy.co.uk . You can also find her on instagram as @aderounmubo.

🌹Stopping violence against womyn, femmes, trans wom*n, non-binary pals, women of colour, women with a disability, homeless wom*n and especially, our Indigenous sisters can be as simple as asking a friend if she/they feel safe in their relationship.
It could mean making a 'plan' and holding your friends hand. It may mean undestanding that abuse/power/control has a cycle and choosing to educate yourself out of it.
It may mean taking a stand at a party and facing social exclusion yourself. It may mean rallying in the street or lobying your local government or talking abouts respect with your children.
Either way, culture is not static but made with every new interaction. Likewise, we can change culture with our actions everyday.
It takes everything you got to challenge the ingrained attitudes and deep-seated beliefs that underly gender inequality and hence, violence against wom*n, nb's and femmes.
But to not try, is worse. .
We are so proud to support this important cause @fernwoodmaroochydore 😊❤️🎄 “What’s the best Christmas gift you’ve ever received?
We’re willing to bet it was something heartfelt and meaningful, and whatever it was, the true gift was that it made you feel really loved and special.💕 What if we told you that you could give that gift to someone else this Christmas? Better yet, what if we told you that you could also give someone the gift of confidence, self-worth and happiness?
A bag for Share the Dignity’s #itsinthebag campaign is truly a gift worth giving. All you need to do is find a handbag that you no longer use and fill it with items to make a woman in need feel special. Our volunteers will make sure it reaches a lady who may be homeless or fleeing domestic violence, and having a really tough time this Christmas.
Your bag is so much more than a bag! To the woman who receives it, it will be a sign that someone put love and time into creating something special just for her. It will be a huge boost to her self-worth and confidence, a gift she’ll treasure long after Christmas is over. We guarantee that the joy of giving a bag matches the joy of receiving one!
For more info (including ideas for things to put in your bag, details about your nearest collection point, and all things #itsinthebag ) visit us at www.sharethedignity.com.au
please tell us what was your favourite gift and share this post you never know who may see it and decide they too would like to sprinkle some LOVE in the form of a #itsinthebag this Christmas” @sharethedignityaustralia 💖

The police are probing the stabbing to death of Bilyamin Muhammed Bello by his wife, Maryam, in Abuja. Bilyamin is a son of a former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and one-time minister, Dr. Haliru Bello. His wife, who is the suspect, is a daughter of former Aso Savings boss Hajia Maimuna Aliyu.
The couple before the weekend tragic incident had a one-year old daughter. The suspect is being detained by the police while the deceased was buried yesterday after the Janazar prayer at the Central Mosque in Abuja. Maryam was taken to her residence by homicide detectives for a search, fingerprints and forensic investigation.
She was saved from being mobbed by angry siblings and relatives of the deceased husband. Clinging to her seven-month old baby girl, Maryam, who looked remorseful, burst into tears after being led into the flat where she allegedly killed her husband.
The source added: “They were at home when the wife became berserk over some text messages, including one allegedly suspected to be from a female banker. “After engaging in a shouting match, the wife was embroiled in fighting with her husband before heading to the kitchen where she picked a knife to stab Bilyamin three times, including on his private parts.
“Drenched with blood, Bilyamin fought hard by crawling out of the couple’s flat to ask for help from neighbours. Unfortunately, the husband died in the hospital. The incident was reported to the police and Maryam was arrested by homicide detectives.” Maryam is a graduate with two degrees from British university. There had been whispers of a rocky relationship in a marriage meant to bring two prominent families together but allegations of infidelity and plans to marry another wife might have caused the insecurity in Bilyamin’s Maitama home.
Twitter user @Habibgajam, took to the platform to share his own eyewitness account of what really happened.
Issa HAPPY HAPPY Monday💪🏽❤️👑
You are alive
You are breathing
You are not in a coma
You are not hooked up to life support
You are not yet in your coffin
You still have breath and life in your body because GOD is not finished with you yet!
Daily we are all faced with problems, situations, issues, extremely difficult trying times but let’s begin to program/Renew our minds and STOP magnifying our problems beyond what they deserve. YES THIS ONE IS DIFFICULT that’s why it’s TRAINING the mind it’s a process but I encourage you royalty, my king, my Queen do this and let faith, hope and TRUST in God stir up from within the depths of you. Speak, declare and confess that IT IS WELL, THINGS ARE ALREADY BETTER, YOU CAN AND WILL OVERCOME THIS, IT IS WORKING OUT FOR YOUR GOOD. (Romans 8.28) -
I am LIVING PROOF that because of faith (which pleases the lord) there will be a shift, and a change!
You can NOT give up b!
It’s time to stand like NEVER before and walk through whatever has been given to you. This is YOUR LIFE, YOUR JOURNEY, YOUR TESTIMONY- NOBODY else’s.
God is NEVER late. He knows what he’s doing with you and He is ALWAYS on time❤️
Much Love & many blessings 👑👑👑👑

GUYS! We all know I’m super passionate about #domesticviolence and this year I’m asking for your help. The last time I did this, I was able to donate 15 bags for victims of #DV - both kids and women. Do you have a handbag lying around? Can you put some basic items in it? Things like sanitary items, shampoo and conditioner, tooth brushes and paste are luxuries that some women go without when leaving an environment that is unsafe. If you’re willing to get on board, let me know. Together we can #makeastand and support #victims , while making sure #wewontstaysilent . #inthebag#sharethedignity
Sometimes, late, late at night is the only time you have for You. Sometimes it’s the only time you can finally hear yourself think. Do you look out the window at the Dark and wonder “why?” Do you reflect upon the day’s events and ponder the moments that could have made you negatively uncomfortable? Did someone possibly cause a shift in your course and now you feel anxious and uneasy? Really think about this, if this is your case. Why did this shift occur? Why do you think you feel uncomfortable? What will you do to correct this? Is it possible that perhaps you need to refrain from giving this person your time and energy? As soon as you feel uncomfortable because of the way a person treats you, then most likely you need to put an immediate stop to it. Your task is to always remain in control of Your alignment. If something comes in and shifts it in a negative way, listen to your gut. It is NOT cool to be called names, places in discriminative categories, coerced to do or say something you know to be wrong. Whatever it may be, really contemplate and discover why it occurred. Rid your Tomorrow of this disturbance in your mind and upon your heart and body. Set the bar of your boundaries high. // #iAmResilience#latenightthoughts#valueyourself#believeinyourself
