Johnny Lightning 1964 Dodge 330 Lightweight, Mopar or No Car 5-car box set, 2007.
This is one of the JL brand’s most popular castings, and the only way to get it in Dodge PP-1 “Red” is in a 5-car box set. The lightweight version of the real 330 had a 426 Max Wedge “Ramcharger” V8, and aluminum body parts, including the fenders, hood, and scoop you see replicated here. The one issue with this JL casting is that the factory didn’t engrave the grille detail deeply enough. But there’s a fix.
Paint it silver and it looks too bright because the shadows are so faint. The trick around that is to paint the grill a slightly darker silver, as on this preproduction sample. This gives the illusion of depth. You’ll also see from the white interior and chassis that this is a White Lightning variation of one very rare Dodge.
Can't wait to get this thing back out on the track!! Thats a deuce rear fender on a 2008 dyna haha having it body worked and painted right now. Should be looking bad ass once it matches the rest of the bike. Last time I was out with it I ran a 10.24 at 128mph with a street tire and shitty track prep. Looking for high 9s next time out at the @raceidbl event at budds creek in October. @tracdynamics killed it with their 5 inch stretched swingarm!! Also new parts coming from @horsepowerinc and @revolutionperformance. #dragracing#dyna#harleydavidson#Harley#performance#speedshop#handbuiltnotbought
Brent Thalasinos in the burnout box. These three photos show a part of what the drivers do to prepare the tires and car for the run down the drag strip. Consistency is everything in drag racing. So what you do each time if it's the same theoretically should produce the same results.
Tyler Smith is currently leading the way in Terminator Blocks Clutches and Accessories 13+. The top three are all within striking with only 2 events left. It's going to be some great racing this weekend. Special thanks to Team Mom Stephanie in the back ground of photo who worked dedicatedly to make sure the kids representing SCEDA and the Auto Club Dragway at the Junior finals last weekend in Las Vegas had a great time.
