I like this one because it's a group photo taken from a wonderful angle, capturing a few different mini-scenes at exactly the right moment. Onstage and in character I was so in that moment I couldn't possibly take in all the other happenings of the scene, especially since my eyes and focus were mostly directed away from them, and seeing this photo and others similar to it for the first time was a new experience for me as a performer and a creator. This photo was taken by @erik_preis and can also be found as part of the official Icon 2017 photo album on facebook. #UntilWorldsEnd#UntilWorldsEndTheMusical#DraMagic#DraMagicProductions#DraMagicTales
2016 and 2017 were both complex and difficult and at this point feel like they were but one long year, and among the changes they brought into my life I find I have neglected this account almost entirely. I think I simply didn't feel my life was stable enough to be documented, and as a result the musical - an experience deeply meaningful to me - went by almost completely undocumented because honestly, with all we've been through, a part of me didn't believe it was truly happening until the festival was already over and our shows with it. Changing the past is not an option, but I can still share this experience with you, and to start this year on a joyful note I'm gonna try and use these first few weeks to do exactly that. So this is the first in what will be a series of posts holding some of my favorite photos from the process, the shows and this journey as a whole.
This felt like the right photo to start with. Our beautiful cast, onstage before the show. #UntilWorldsEnd#UntilWorldsEndTheMusical#DraMagic#DraMagicProductions#DraMagicTales
