#drawtober#drawtober2017 @drawtober it’s over!!! OML I’ve completed a whole drawtober for the first time ever, and I didn’t have any catching up to do, they were all done and posted on the day they were supposed to be, I’m pretty proud of myself but gosh am I happy it’s over
#Drawtober day 12
A blood harvester. But why is he harvesting it? Is he a scientist, a detective, a murderer? What or whose blood is it? That's up to you to decide.
Pros: His body and the lighting
Cons: Messed up the face, and the red ink bled (haha)
#Drawtober day 11
An old, long forgotten scarecrow. It's not very effective... Pros: Feather texture is cool, took forever to get it to actually show, lots of layering.
Cons: fabric folding & shading looks too unnatural
#Drawtober day 10 When I was a kid I wrote stories about shapeshifting wolves with phoenix attributes (ie wings and fiery stuff.) So this price is a little throwback to those stories I wanted to make into a book series. (P.s.- I called them "Pheowolves") Pros: Lots of great textures.
Cons: lopsided face?
#Drawtober day 9 This is a character I made in 2016, she doesn't really have a story either. People and sea creatures are scared away from her because she isn't "beautiful," she's terrifying (to them). She's an innocent soul, though. I forgot to post yesterday, so you get two posts today!
Pros: I never draw/paint rocky surfaces, and I like how it came out.
Cons: anatomical weaknesses & lineweight
#Drawtober day 8
A baker who loves pumpkin products above all. Halloween is his time to shine.
Pros: I absolutely love the bricks.
Cons: the sketch looked creepier, perhaps not enough values.
#Drawtober day 7 The lonely rat queen. She fits in with neither man nor beast, and often walks the empty halls of her palace in the moonlight. She is a benevolent force, but not afraid to do what is necessary.
Pros: I love the colors, and values are good.
Cons: the form and lines in some places is sub-par.
#Drawtober day 6
I thought the prompt said "cannibal," not "carnivore," but cannibals ARE carnivores, so it works! A creepy carnival that never stays longer than one night, and for some reason, can never be tracked down. Anyone who goes inside never comes out.
Pros: Values are pretty good & i like the accents
Cons: little mistakes, and the face didn't work how I wanted it to
#Drawtober day 5
A fairy who was sick of the constant betrayal by humans & fellow fairies. She wears a mask to hide who she was in the past. She loves nature.
Pros: Cool little details, and I like the dust
Cons: Not enough contrast, and looks pretty messy
#Drawtober day 4
A wraith who'll beat you up with his chains.
Pros: I like the chains & gradient
Cons: I forgot to ink the hands!!!! Also, there isn't enough value difference to separate the levels of the cloth
#Drawtober day 3
These are the lich twins from Adventure Zone's Suffering game!
Pros: lots of sparkle and contrast!
Cons: The characters definitely should have been more flamboyant, and I very badly messed up on both of their faces v_v But I'm taking it as a learning experience!
#Drawtober day two.
A loving wife who lost her husband to illness refuses to let him go. She collects body parts and stitches them together, hoping to create new vessel for her love. The science behind this one is definitely shaky, haha.
Pros: I was finally able to properly layer the strings you use to tighten the bodice! For some reason, those and shoelaces always throw me off.
Cons: The fabric folds, especially on the arm, look too... unreal. They're too dark in contrast, and they weren't thought out enough. But it's better than what I used to do!
Kinda dropped off there again, but I've been making progress! Like going back and finishing this pixie from #drawtober . 😆 It was from day three, and I was trying to stop drawing at 2am, so I didn't get to do as much as I wanted. Gave up on that cut off time the next day and never looked back. 😜
Printing is imminent--supplies have all arrived. I matted all of the originals, so that I could take the ones I have left to the #aptholidaymarket at @aptbytap. Ten have gone to new homes (or are waiting for me to mail them 😋), but just to make an official announcement, if you're interested in one of the originals that's left in the video, let me know. Msg me, etc. They're all $55/each (they'll be $60 at the market to cover the commission), matted to 11x14, acid-free, with backing. Shipping is extra. Stay tuned for the print options if you're still being patient! 😂
#Drawtober day one - Skeleton Parade.
I think this is a pretty average piece. There was no real story behind it, but i like how it came out nonetheless! Pros- high contrast, Cons- sorta messy, proportions&depth got a bit wacky in some places. What do you think?
I did an Ink/Drawtober mashup this year, and I finished all (excluding one- Day 22) of the illustrations by early November. I opted not to share them because I made alot of mistakes on most of them, and rushed the project as well. After some self reflection, I decided I need to share them anyways, so for the next 31 days, I'll be posting my final illustrations, along with their motives, and what I see as pros and cons of each piece. I hope you enjoy them! (Stickers shown were in the white Drawtober pin package, or from @torianne00 orders!)
