Pilot Mountain emerging from the clouds, captured recently during some interesting weather. The mountain was hidden behind the clouds for most of the evening, and before leaving I decided to check out one more cliff. The fog suddenly started to part and the valley below was filled with rolling clouds and fall colors. An amazing experience! All part of my upcoming video to be released this Wednesday. #exploringnc#naturenc#visitnc
My behind the scenes Tuesday. A moody sky start, but you’ll still find me outside at lunchtime. Though it’s set to be brilliant sunshine by then...

I feel incredibly lucky to have witnessed this amazing sunset in Canyonlands last weekend. It was incredible to watch the sunlight paint the red rock and clouds as golden hour transitioned into twilight. Looking out from this “not so secret” spot into the vast openness of Canyonlands makes you feel so small and insignificant. I didn’t notice at the time, but in the bottom left of this photo you can see some tents in the frame. Just to get a sense of how massive this landscape really is.
