[Brussels cocktail week] GRAND FINAL "Blend" - The last big surprise of the evening, were the cocktails of "De Haus" in #Brussels . Really simple but well executed and sometimes it's better to be modest and keep it simple than be unreasonably creative... Well done Samuel da Fonseca and Alexis Boisseau! Your "P'tit let" was perfect with just Hendrick's gin, Lillet and St-Germain (on pic). And same thing for your "Little Italy" with Bulleit rye, Campari and St-Germain. | #bcw17#brusselscocktailweek#blend#dehaus
The Gibson Diaries
Part #9 – Onion Obsessions II (Part 1/3)
While Alex Kratena (@alex_kratena) lets himself be “inspired” at the Schaberhof, our onion expert Gerhard (@kraeuterjaeger) turns out to be a kind of Trojan horse, with nothing but hard labour on his mind. 800 seeds per square metre need to be sown across 1,500 square metres of soil. Blessed is he who can drive the tractor!
The Forge's Hopping Berry
This drink, chilled down with a bottle of Duvel, will knock a couple of degrees off a hot day's temperature. Justin Maas of The Forge in Miami Beach mixes fresh berries with Nolet's gin, a peachy rose-scented version of the spirit that's light on the juniper.
1 Bordeaux cherry
1 1/2 ounces Nolet's Gin
1/2 ounce simple syrup (see note)
1 ounce fresh lemon juice from 1 lemon
1 1/2 ounces Duvel Belgian Golden Ale
Additional mixed berries, for garnish
1. Chill cocktail glass by filling with ice water.
2. Add blueberries, strawberries, and cherry to a Grand cocktail shaker and muddle until broken up. Add gin, simple syrup, and lemon juice and fill shaker with ice. Shake until well chilled, about 20 seconds.
3.Empty cocktail glass. Fine-strain cocktail into chilled glass, pressing on fruit in strainer to extract any remaining juices. Top with Duvel. Garnish with additional berries on a skewer and serve.
Cinnamon Maple Old Fashioned
Want to guess who I'm seeing tomorrow night? The endlessly entertaining Postmodern Jukebox @pmjofficial that's who! If anyone deserves a drink, it's those glorious and talented humans. Like them, this is a classic with a twist.
2 oz @michterswhiskey American Whiskey
⅓ oz Bourbon Finished Maple Syrup
2 dashes Fee Brothers Aromatic Bitters
1 dash Fee Brothers Orange Bitters
Stir, strain, rock, cinnamon dusted over the top
Sweet, spicy, thick and delicious. Michter's American Whiskey works perfectly in marrying the bitters and maple syrup, and the cinnamon adds a delightful aromatic touch.
I did a cocktail last time the PMJ lads and ladies were in town, so now it's going to be a tradition. For those that don't know, PMJ take modern day songs and throw them into the past without the aid of a DeLorean... Great Scott! Ever wondered what a 60's Tom Jones version of Shaggy's "Wasn't Me" would sound like? How about a 20's version of Gangsta's Paradise? They have you covered! Cheers to you amazing folks and see you at the show 🥃
The "BlackJack" cocktail at @idabstable is made with Scotch, Amaro and Cold Brew Coffee ☕️ A perfect swap for your boring morning cup of joe 😬 I'm Keeeeedding 😂 It's definitely delicious for an after-work pick me up!

This was part two of Reno morning casino. The lady on the left was telling me about all the dirty things she got up to and how her husband who works security was jealous of me. The guy on the right was talking about love lost with his wife. I was there trying to keep the fireball down with G&Ts.
