I struggle with this big time! I love action taking, the ability to do something, to do a lot of things and see the fruits of my labor now. But the need for speed and tangible results can put me in a cycle of overwork and burnout that, in the long run, proves to be exhausting and inefficient. So what am I doing differently? Focusing on consistency rather than intensity. When the urge for urgency and speed pops up, I stop and ask myself “Is this what I need to do, what I said I’d do, and how consistent have my actions been on this project? Reflecting and answering those questions give me the pregnant pause I need to settle down, refocus and go again. Remember: success lives in the long game. Play to win...
My 🙏: Lord, thank you for allowing me to be me. You love me just as I am. You also encourage your children to be like Jesus. ❤️ I desire to be like you more and more everyday. I believe I’m becoming more loving, compassionate, creative, giving, joyful, and more everyday. 💛 The experiences I have, both positive and negative are molding me into the person you’ve intended for me to be.
🔥 There is nothing holding me back from greatness. Thank you for choosing me for this journey. @affirmqueen #driven#fun#better
#deadlifts still need a little work but all in all I feel a lot more comfortable with them. After my adjustment yesterday I woke up with a bit of soreness in my back. I was still able to comfortably rep my body weight which was a goal of mine this month. Once my back and shoulder are good to go I will throw some more weight on there! #legday2 done for the week!!
First time deadlifting with a bar without the smith machine, and damn it felt powerful! Makes me want to go back asap and build on the weight. Was able to get to 115 last night.
And of course, had to end with a headstand 💁
Good morning! Happy Saturday. Current update: —-⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So left picture is one week out before my show 2 weeks ago. Weighing in at 110.8 in this specific picture to be exact :) I was getting real lean right at around this point. Definitely coming in tight.
Right picture is this morning. I honestly hadn’t weighed myself since Monday😂 but I made sure to do it this morning because I still most hold myself accountable & asses my progress regardless of a show. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So, I’m currently weighing in at 112.2😂 😂😂 I was 114 last week. WHY is that funny to me? Well because my cardio got cut down yet AGAIN ...& I’ve also been incorporating a lot of different things to my current diet this week just to make it a lot more tasty and fun (ex: jelly on my rice cakes, small amounts of nut butter, fruit, etc) Oh, and I have more carbs than I did during prep. My body is just like “okay, I am cool. I don’t want to gain a ton of weight.” 😂 which is absolutely fine with me! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
How am I feeling? Im honestly feeling like I’m a huge ball of energy lately. I’ve been waking up with energy, getting workouts done in the AM and just feeling more like myself lately. Im enjoying lifting heavier, loving that cardio is dropping, and that calories are about to go up yet again next week. -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Im looking forward to making some serious gains and I’ve been tracking my workouts. I can already see some slight strength increasing. Obviously I’m not going to be able to lift the heaviest ever just about yet, but I’m slowly working my way up. Week by week. So with this being said, I can only hope for the best and keep working hard 💪🏽 Happy Saturday.
