"Metamorphosis" by my student Sameer Nayyar. All of the sounds you hear were originally sampled from the piano you see. The musique concrete composition was broadcast back into the broken piano and re-recorded with reactive visuals; this is the version documented here #musiqueconcrete

Join us this Thursday, December 14th, 7:30 PM for the #BardMAT POETRY NIGHT at Heart of Los Angeles (HOLA) | Bard MAT graduate students read from their creative work emerging from Professor Andrea Quaid’s literature course Poetic Voices. The course description reads: “What is poetry and what can it do? How is poetry a genre that asks questions, represents events, analyzes, critiques and imagines otherwise?
Together, we will engage the cultures, politics and aesthetics of poetry and poetics by reading U.S. contemporary poetry, literary essays and critical theory. We will read closely, and write critically and creatively, to engage with course texts and themes.
Our thematic focus for the class is citizenship in its many forms including national, transnational, ecological and literary citizenship. We will read our course texts to think about these and related issues of sovereignty, democracy, U.S. law and policy, civic participation and exclusion, national identity, and settler colonialism. Our inquiry will extend to ecological systems and what it means to live ethically as interdependent beings. We will also think about literary citizenship and its civic and community commitments. - Dr. Stephen Mucher, Dir.
