🔴BACK WORKOUT🔴

First day back doing deadlifts😬 Dropped the weight a little, concentrating on form and tempo💪🏻 These are one of the toughest exercises to get right so if you’re having an issue with form, drop the weight, FORM and be patient🏋🏼‍♂️🏋🏼‍♀️ The workout I done was ➡️ Deadlifts 5-8 reps x 4/5 sets (1/2 warm up sets)
➡️ Bent over row 10 reps x 4
➡️ Bent over cable pull 10-12 reps x 4
➡️ Cable standing row 8-10 reps x 4
➡️Lat pulldown 8-10 reps x 4

I also finished the workout with some bicep exercises💪🏻 If you find yourself getting bored of the same workout, change it up. 
For example if your bored of a bent over row,  do a dumbbell row or single arm row🏋🏼‍♂️ Your body will be well used to what your doing and begin to know what’s coming next, so change it up😎

Whipped out the Skillet I got for Christmas finally and made my first ever Pizookie 👌 Told ya I'd have to go baking with Chickpeas at some stage 😉 Yes Chickpeas and all the flavours of Salted Caramel, Cinnamon and Vanilla inside this 😍 With Choco Chips baked on top. Well Impressed for my first attempt 😎 Taste absolutley spot on but need some texture work! Plus the colour pictured awful 😂 Swipe to see what it's been themed up with tonight, yes I had to make a bowl out of it of course 😉 Still loving my @oppoicecream while everyone is on the Halotop Buzz, luckily I tried a good few flavours in America over the summer so I'm in no rush just yet while I still have a freezer stashed with delicious treats like Oppo to get through first 😉 Caramel Moser Roth and Salted Caramel Domes are both a must from Aldi if you didn't already know 😉 Now it's chill time for Pops before another long shift tomorrow 😎 Any Pizookie/Skillet ideas send them my way 🙌

First day of officially being a cardio-thoracic ICU nurse done and fuck do I have a new found respect for the abundance of knowledge they possess. Working with one of my colleagues I was overwhelmed by the information he could teach me and how well he explained it for me to comprehend. Also more than scary to think that is the level I will have to achieve to properly carry out my job. Am exciting and scary time ahead but one I'm curious to see how it'll unfold.

One of the favourite weekly dinners in this house 👌 Sausage pasta bake using @mallonssausages1 Gluten Free Pork Sausages and @thegymchef Smoke and Spice along with lots of veggies and a homemade sauce. Tried out @bulkpowders_ie Gluten Free high protein pasta tonight for the first time too and I really liked it! Hard to tell I know when it's in a bake so be interesting to see how it compares in a normal pasta dish! But this was all fab 😍 Homemade DIY Cheesey Garlic bread using @eatlean Cheese, garlic and Honey and Spelt Bread all grilled 🍯🍞🧀 Need a stock up on @eatlean as you can probably tell 🤣 Non the less, gorgeous meal ❤️

I’m still on antibiotics for my strep throat (and I’m being a good medical student and finishing them even though I feel better 🙃) so I’m trying to eat as many #probiotic rich foods as possible! Which means lots of yogurt and then also this amazing miso bowl. It’s just vegetable broth with miso added in poured over a soft boiled egg, some wilted bok choy, soy mushrooms, and soba noodles (which are made of buckwheat)! Super tasty, super satisfying, and super easy to make 🤤. Let us know if you make it too!

💥HOW TO BE A SUCCESSFUL DIETER💥

🦆Diets can be hard. Sometimes really hard.  Establishing some habits as you go can mean the difference between successful weight loss and being stuck in a perpetual cycle of lose a little, gain it all back.  What habits are key? -
🥐Monitor and track calories and protein - Look there are some people who hate to track - I get that. But really, if you do track, you are going to learn a lot.  Like A LOT about portion sizes, calorie counts, protein grams, etc.  You don’t have to track forever - no one wants to do that, but set yourself up for some success, accountability,  and even some education so that you can make instinctively good choices later. -
🏋️‍♀️Strength Train 3-4 days a week - Go lift weights 3-4 days a week consistently and watch the changes happen.  The scale number may not change right away, but over time, you are going to see the changes:  more muscle “tone”, clothes fitting looser, how you look in the mirror. -
🍫Include foods you enjoy - This is where so many people fail.  They put themselves on such a restrictive diet that they end up binging on the weekends because during the week all they ate were salads.  Include foods that you love into your diet - may take some figuring out, but it is doable, and you will be a much happier person as a result.  Life is way too short to never eat pizza or cupcakes -
⛸Be Consistent over time - Consistency is truly the key.  It doesn’t mean perfection.  One bad day isn’t going to blow all of your efforts up to that point. It is the consistency over the long term that is going to win the war.

🎹Patience - This is the toughest one of them all.  We all want results and we all want them now. Problem is it’s not going to happen that way, so put on the patience cap and settle in for the long haul.  The only way to fail is to quit.

🌭Get back on track after a detour - There will be times we get off track,  and the only thing to do is get right back on.  Don’t beat yourself up, don’t think you have screwed up everything, just hop back on track and keep it going.

The secret to an amazingly silky-smooth carbonara? Good quality free-range eggs cooked slowly with only the heat of the drained pasta. Simple as. Recipe for the sauce:

Serves 3-4
2 whole eggs + 2 egg yolks
50g pecorino Romano or parmesan
Tonnes of black pepper
Fried cubes of pancetta

Whisk that sauce together and then mix it in with the drained pasta (80-100g per person) and a small amount of the drained pasta water. Keep stirring u til the sauce slightly thickens and looks nice and creamy!

Had to try out the Cajun Veggie mix I made this morning and show you since it's probably the only time it's gonna be ate off a plate 🤣 Also just thought I think this may be my first time eating Chickpeas 🤔 Have two cans in the press staring at me since forever so said I'd give them a go, yay or nay? Hmm They don't really taste of anything to be honest but I'm all for trying new foods especially ones that bring different micros to the table 👌 I love baking with different Beans so I'm thinking that's the next experi-bake now to make something sweet out of them! Anyway my plate ☝️ The Cajun Veggies, Spinach, Toasted Bap with Cottage Cheese,Smoked Bacon Medallions 🥓 and @carefreefoods BBq Sauce. It’s okay to look back sometimes... just to remind ourselves how far we’ve come. Reflecting on how far we’ve come can help us to appreciate how much stronger we are now than we were back then, which is sometimes all the motivation we need to push forward 💪🏼
There’s 341 days between the three pics on the left, & the one on the right. 
That might sound like a lot, but let’s break it down... that’s 49 weeks. I usually train 5x p/week, with a split of 3 lower body & 2 upper body workouts. 
That’s 98 upper body workouts in between these two pics - IF I trained upper body twice each week. Which I know for a fact I DIDN’T. Take out a 2 week holiday with zero training... and a few weeks I was injured & couldn’t train properly... minus any missed sessions due to illness or unforeseen circumstances... you get the picture! 
Progress takes time. It’s not linear. The journey should be enjoyable. The key is to focus on the process, not the result. THAT’S when the magic happens👌🏼✨

It’s okay to look back sometimes... just to remind ourselves how far we’ve come. Reflecting on how far we’ve come can help us to appreciate how much stronger we are now than we were back then, which is sometimes all the motivation we need to push forward 💪🏼 There’s 341 days between the three pics on the left, & the one on the right. That might sound like a lot, but let’s break it down... that’s 49 weeks. I usually train 5x p/week, with a split of 3 lower body & 2 upper body workouts. That’s 98 upper body workouts in between these two pics - IF I trained upper body twice each week. Which I know for a fact I DIDN’T. Take out a 2 week holiday with zero training... and a few weeks I was injured & couldn’t train properly... minus any missed sessions due to illness or unforeseen circumstances... you get the picture! Progress takes time. It’s not linear. The journey should be enjoyable. The key is to focus on the process, not the result. I never advise to lift crazy heavy due to the workings/positioning of the muscle and focus on technique .
I would also suggest warming up well with bands so the muscle is fully activated before your workout.

In this exercise maintaining your wrist position higher that your elbows gives you better control and range of motion.

It's also important to really squeeze your #delts at the top of this movement so lifting up and slightly back allows for greater activation of this.

You can even add in some rear felt flies before hand if you have problems activation your rear delts at times.

There’s over three years between these photos, and a very different person. On the left, I was uncomfortable with my body, I was reluctant to be in pictures, and I wasn’t happy - but I also wasn’t making any changes. .
It took time and a multitude of small changes to become the person on the right - I started fueling my body better, training in a variety of ways to keep things exciting and to keep myself going to the gym, I found a solid support system, and also I allowed myself to become a priority. But this took time and effort and it has been a slow process - and that’s ok! I used to wish I could lose 30 pounds in 3 months and have a quick fix. Now, my targets are focused on lifting heavier, running further, and improving on my past efforts. I focus less on weight and more on body fat, and I also try to focus more on doing what makes me happy. So try not to get discouraged - slow, sustainable results are the best way to accomplish your goals! It takes time, but sure, what worth having doesn’t? .

Why have high protein and fats only for breakfast??🤔🤔 During the night when u sleep your body is resting and repairing and releases hormones to help with this process and the main 1 is human growth hormone(HGH) which helps burn fat...upon waking up this is still present and ur body is still burning fat but as soon as carbs are introduced this process is stopped and no longer burning fat...you should have good energy from a good nights sleep so don't think I need carbs for energy first thing in the morning... KEEP YOUR CARBS FOR LUNCH OR PRE,INTRA,POST TRAINING....

Anyway this beauty 👅 Swipe to see the make up of it been pre soaked and then oven fress before I lobbed it on a plate and destroyed it with tasty goods 😉 Inside we have two slices of bread, smoked bacon, banana, cinnamon Pancake sugar all soaked overnight in a mixture of quark, egg whites and milk and baked this morning 😍 Topped with Peanut Butter, Maple Syrup and some more of that Cinnamon Sugar because that stuff is like crack 🙃

A real treat breakfast or brunch idea for mornings off ❤️ This has to be one of my favourites, don't fear bread guys, look at what you can make with it 😍 Especially for those who throw out the crusty ends of the bread pan, this is perfect for it or bread that's just about to go off 👌 GORGEOUS 👅
